Shaq and Kobe, Players only

Post#1 » by ROballer » Thu Feb 15, 2018 7:58 am

**** the All Star weekend, this is the best part of the weekend for me. Extended conversation between the two will air Saturday at 7 PM ET on TNT.

It's nice to remember the good ole' days, even taking the good with the bad.

You can tell the hatchet has been completely buried. Which is good. It would somehow lessen those three championships if the two leading stars still hated each other after all these years. It was frustrating beyond belief how those two were constantly at each other's throats. But now, so many years removed, I have nothing but gratitude. We won three straight, with two of the greatest players in history. It was the experience of a lifetime.

Amen. Loved everything about it. But it hurt being reminded of the Detroit finals loss. Still hate how that ended. Besides and including that, what a privilege to get to hear those two reminisce about it now. Friendly, and competitive still. Hilarious.

Man oh man, this definitely brings back memories for me. That conversation just felt like the ending of the final chapter of one of the greatest duos to ever lace them up. I'm just overall happy that Shaq and Kobe can have a conversation about the hardships and the happy times that they had with each other without media interference. Kobe is so misunderstood by the casuals man... This guy is strict, but he's also a humble person, which I admire the hell out of. I was so happy that Kobe let Shaq take home the All-Star trophy while Shaq was going through his divorce and all the other problems he had at the time. My respect for Kobe just went up so much, he already had the utmost respect from me, but this just puts it at a another level. I miss the hell out of these days, I miss these two players the most. Kobe and Shaq will always be my number 1 greatest duo of all time.

P.S. I didn't know Kobe had a bone spur in his left ankle during the Boston series... I knew of the broken finger, but man...this guy's pain tolerance is so incredible... Puts all these other players to shame with their injuries...

Man, memory lane with this gem. The way they both talked about 2004. They both knew we should've taken that series. The first time I've ever seen Kobe admit his mistakes about that series. It's just a damn shame that Shaq started to settle after the first championship run. After watching this, it changed my perspective of Kobe. He was actually a good teammate to Shaq. The guy acknowledged the importance of the first championship run was for Shaq. Shaq talking about Kobe's OT performance in the 99-00 final. It's a damn shame how things ended between these guys. I swear, they could've won 5-6 rings together. Imagine how much more dominate we'd be had Shaq been motivated like 99-00 with an improved Kobe? :curse:

Greatest duo ever. I miss them. Shaq is the most dominant player I've ever seen.

Kobe Shaq era was my favorite time as a Laker fan. Everything from the championships to the rivalries to the overall fan support. The parades were insane, the riots after they won were insane. LA was covered in purple and gold throughout that entire run. Such good times.
LAKER FAN FOR LIFE

RIP Kobe and Gigi
