NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
Rising stars game about to start. I really hope they don't limit Kuz and BI's minutes because they played on a back to back.

I find it disrespectful that they introduced last a Boston guy when they had 3 Lakers in there.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
Ingram doesn't have the personality for these types of games. He's so mellow he lets other people have the spotlight. He probably just blazes one right before and just chills.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
From watching the rising stars game as a newcomer to the NBA, one could only assume that it's illegal to shoot anywhere inside the 3pt line.
I like what the US kids are doing inside... I just will never find the 3pt game all that interesting to watch.
Also... Yay, it's all star weekend... Literally the least interesting time in the NBA season.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
I'm just glad our guys got out of there injury free. Two road games back to back and then a late night flight home is brutal before playing their third game. Especially for Ingram, who is our primary ballhandler.

Aye no one watching?
Slam dunk was great but lacked something.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
This **** lost its luster a long time ago lol. Nobody cares at all anymore. When the all-star game itself sucks who cares about the other stuff
Dunk contest been dead besides a couple dunks
Skills contest is a trash idea to begin with.
3 point contest format is ****.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
I doubt i'll ever watch another allstar game again to behonest, this has the been the only one I haven't watched since liking basketball either live or re-run.
All star game just isn't and won't ever be the same again.

Man this crowd is hard to please.
The best in recent memory would be the Lavine-Gordon duel I think you all would agree and it really was hard to top that this year but the 4 participants did bring new stuff and/or relived old-school jams with their own flavor.
But hey. We can agree to disagree.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
The dunk contest was bound to be a let down after the insane expectations Gordon and Lavine set last season. I could really care less about the glorified lay up and 3 point fests which the rising stars and all star game have become.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
Honestly the Gordon and Lavine dunks weren't that exciting to me either... The most memorable dunks IMO are those that happen in game situations... The dunk contest really hasn't been that interesting to me since the first couple.
The whole all star weekend thing just doesn't really have a point now... Hell the best teams in the league are basically all star teams now... Sooner or later all the best players seem to team up... Every game is a 3pt contest now... Sure there's more creativity in the dunks in the dunk contest, but they're also a whole lot sillier too... The Celebrity game used to be the dumbest part of the weekend but actually, now it may be the most interesting.
I pay attention to the weekend because sometimes some interesting rumors come out over the break, but other than that, it just feels a little cheap.

The fascination with 3 pointers killed all-star weekend.

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend Thread
One of the most boring and worst All Star weekends ever! Sure I felt Larry got robbed in the dunk contest but if I’m being brutally more honest his dunks weren’t all that either lol. His cradle dunk and baseline reverse windmill bang was good.
Snooze fest and I’m expecting the ASG to be an overhyped crappy layup and dunk warmup drill.
I got Westbrook taking home the MVP. He stays locked on “Try Hard” mode

It’s killing the game of basketball in general. Was at my nephews AAU games this weekend you should of seen how many 3’s were getting launched to space

Back in my day we tried to dunk everything.
I blame Steph Curry and the Golden State Chuckers for this bounty soft brand of basketball they have inspired

I can't "and 1" this enough.
A league where there is additional value given to a 6'-10" guy who shoots 37% from 24' over a 6'-10" guy who can shoot over 68% from 5 feet. 3 pointers are an important part of a balanced team but to value them over points in the paint is where you lose me.

Is it over yet? I stand can't watching Kenny "the jet" Smith when I accidentally leave my TV on TNT after the game much less 80 hours of that clown. Has there ever been anyone who takes credit for others success as much as this guy?
