I'm rooting for the Lakers but I've not watched a game in two weeks. With baseball here there isn't much keeping my attention on Lakers ball. I'm disappointed in the names getting trotted out there. Boring stuff man.

I'm not sure how injured Ball and Ingram is but if the point is to give people a lasting impression and excitement over the summer the Lakers are failing. I'm not sure what the executives are doing but they are failing at capitalizing on the hype that they started. It's like a promoter that pushes an event but gets preoccupied and doesn't get enough booze.

What the hell you expect from this season ?

What? So they should trot out their not-100%, young, highly valuable guys? So they can keep casual, fairweather fans excited at the risk of further injury? These games are meaningless in the big picture.

i dont know about "fans" like these but I still follow the games, the win against the Spurs today was really fun to watch - the whole bench jumped up and was all smiles despite Hart missing the game winning shot attempt.

Hard to compete with Sho-Time

Just get thru the season without sustaining any injuries.

There is nothing to play for in these last couple games except trying to ruin another teams season

Nothing quite pumps my 'nads like April baseball.

At any rate, last night's game was entertaining as hell. Beat an arch rival battling for a playoff spot with several quality performances from our young prospects. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Two things. There should have been more free agent activity instead of wearing down the players.

Also, I think we have enough data to know that they let these kids sit instead of play. I am making an assumption that they are hurting and not injured. If my assumption is correct I'm not thrilled.

The hype was created and they should keep it going. Finish strong and attract free agents. Continue building the young core and their brand. Instead I believe they have worn out other players.

wouldnt be making this if you saw last nights game but im sure the dodgers game did you some good

Ugh if only last nights overtime thriller and the previous 3 games that went down to the wire were as exciting as the mid day April 0-0 thriller that’s going on right now between the padres and Rockies

So dude is juiced up over April baseball and decides not to watch a team that by all accounts exceeded more than we thought. The team is still playing hard and competing even with busted up lineups. That tells me we've got our system in place,guys have bought in and the team is learning to compete even if they lose....hell I take that all day over meaningless baseball that still has over a 100 damn boring games left until August and September.

I’m sick and tired of players missing a month or more over sprains and minor injuries. What the hell is this? No other team in the nba sits out guys for ten x longer than they should be out over minor injuries with no reason to tank. Ingram out a month with a groin sprain? Lonzo out with numerous minor injuries all year??? Why are we coddling them. They need playing time and to be developed. Am I the only person that thinks they’re being kept out way longer than they should? Where is their competitive fire? Do the lakers have no desire to develop their young talent in actual nba games? Or are they just going to continue to just gift us the joy of watching Caruso and ennis Bc lonzo and Brandon got a bruise? Where is the kobe mentality. I can’t be the only person on this board that’s sick and tired of the excuses for not playing, can I? What’s worse is when you rest guys like this, ppl like kuzma who have heart and aren’t soft end up playing 40 mins a game and becoming far more prone to injury. It’s selfish and stupid and the buck stops w laker management

I’m sorry u got a little boo boo brandon and lonzo, but a 34 yr old lebron is playing his heart out while u sit on the bench and watch randle and kuzma try compensate for Caruso and ennis. I’m sick of it. Man up or go to San Antonio for kawhi (I get the irony in this statement but I genuinely believe Leonard wants out of Sa, he’s not soft like lonzo and Brandon)

I think Brandon and lonzo have huge upside but if they’re just gonna be soft like charmin, we just dump them in a package for a star. I can’t believe I’m the only outraged by their lack of effort this season. I might be the old man yelling at the clouds, but kobe would have never done this to us

As teams often do, the Lakers have taken the long-term view. If Lonzo Ball and Ingram would have played through their injuries, the team would have won 3-4 more games. That's it. And although they do not own their pick, they could care less about this year's standings, and they're right.
So WHY do I think that it's ok to do this?

Because being injured means, if you're mature enough to look at the bigger picture, that the said players weren't prepared enough (young bodies, not yet developed, opposing players being over-powering, the pace of the game). So why not let their bodies heal properly, and also let them learn by watching the games from the sidelines. Their points of view will be more objective when they come back, and with enough time to prepare, to develop their skills and also build their confidence over the summer, they will be better players.

Although I do not agree with the general management of the 76ers, their micro-management of injured / deficient players (Embiid, Simmons, Fultz) has proven to be positive for the respective players' development.
Joel and Ben improved their bodies to the point they're playing well against grown men, and Markelle has gotten over the mental hurdles and the muscle memory problems.
I am Lakers fan, and not at all a supporter of Philadelphia, but I am glad that young players (like Embiid and others) have overcome their problems and their futures will be brighter.

There's a lesson to learn in that...

A second learning curve is about the rest of the players on the roster. Decisions need to be made about:
- Randle
- Lopez
- KCP
- Lopez
- the filler: Caruso, Ennis, Wear, Zubac.
Given the situation, I believe Randle has proven his worth and KCP too, although he would net to be given a slightly lesser role on offense.

Rest is really important for the young guys development. I prefer the likes of Ball & Ingram shut up shop for the remaining games than risk injury in meaningless games.

Lakers Execs - Please shutdown Kuzma. Try not to listen to the OP, instead make him happy during the offseason by spending that salary cap $$$$ wisely. OP will understand.

What exactly do Magic and Rob and Jeanie do to close the season out with Buzz? get fined for talking about other players again... or maybe Magic should have un-retired and been the backup PG?
