The first thing I was excited about watching on ESPN in 15 years and they bury it behind an online paywall.

Ep 2 is up

I'll give this a shot tonight, but I'm not excited to be honest. Most of Kobe's stuff post retirement has been really bad. The only exception to that is the short video for "Dear Basketball."

Half way thru Derozan episode, it struck me. The whole show is about Kobe's desire to play basketball. He still feels it, wants to go thru the exact same routine every day with same passion.

I hope that passion doesn't fade away. It is a treat to listen to him talk about 'details'.

Good stuff. I miss Kobe. Watching him hit all those shots like clock-work.

I don't know if it's necessarily the full case. Kobe said in an interview he wants to help today's young players get better because he went into the league expecting to battle/compete with MJ and be schooled by them but MJ and other players selflessly tried to help him and told him how to improve himself even in the middle of games when they were guarding each other. I think Kobe feels like he needs to carry that on and help today's young players.

I think that's a good chunk of why he's doing this in addition to the passion he has left.

Anyone know what software is used to do the video's and how to get the players highlighted etc?

You can easily highlight players using photoshop/gimp and any editing software not named windows movie maker. Or After Effects.
