How many big time names will the lakers get?
It seems EVERYONE is rumored to be going to the lakers
Via free agency or trade. How many are the lakers gonna get? Bonafide superstars. After it’s all said and done.
July 1st starts the fun! Who do you see and why?
I think it’s a slam dunk that George is coming.
Lebron seems like a 50/50 shot.
Leonard is at least semi available in trades it seems.
If he lakers can land 3 stars, maybe cousins takes a cheap one year flier?
Maybe cp3 takes a cheap one year?
What’s your thoughts?

I believe the lakers will land George, and then weigh whether to pay Randle or gamble on Cousins.

I think the Lakers have already landed PG and LeBron, and I think there's going to be a big trade for a 3rd guy nobody sees coming...

Kawhi is a top 5 player in this league and is a player neither Ingram or Ball will ever reach. I’m not nuts, you are for thinking Kawhi is a “rental.”

Until he signs a new contract he's a rental and risk to leave us high and dry just like Dwight did. Also now you created a hole at PG which we have no money to replace. Also the Spurs don't need Ball anyways because they already have a young PG, and Pop is not going to deal with Lavar. In fact I agree with LaVar we are a bunch of p***ies when it comes to deal with players.

I've felt this (the trade out of left field) for a while too. Just adding those guys doesn't give us a balanced group. Bron will want and instant contender I'd think with his short open window.

I voted zero. I won't believe anything until we see someone in a Lakers jersey. But if Lakers do sign LBJ and PG then I just hope they won't sacrifice the young guys for a third star.

Re: How many big time names will the lakers get?
I'd gamble on Cousins and Resign IT for short year deal Offer max to PG13.
C) DMC
PF) Randle If possible
SF) Ingram
SG) PG13
PG) Ball
Bench: IT, King Kuz, Hart, zubac, Caruso
Wonder if that possible? players in that line up can change positions as well
Edit: As slink mentioned as long as long as we don't trade any of our youth I'll be happy.
Ball/Kuz/BI/Hart should be all untradeable IMO

I think I’m fine with the lakers trading 25/Kuz/(ball or Ingram) if it brings a Leonard and cp3

Where's that poster that told me i'd be eating crow after the D'Lo trade, cause we'd land some big names? Go ahead and serve it up to me, cause I think the Lebron/PG pipe dream is happening this offseason. I can't even get into baseball or the NFL offseason cause i'm so anxiously anticipating the good word on the Lakers front.

Re: How many big time names will the lakers get?
Two or three - or none.
I think Lebron and CP will decide to go Houston or L.A. If the latter happens, I see George joining.
Lebron-CP-George will be enticing enough for the Lakers to quit on Lonzo and Ingram and dump Deng's contract to free up that 3rd max spot. At any rate, there's precedent for Lebron to take slightly less to make the money work for a superteam. I can see both Lebron and CP taking a 1+1 then opting out and signing long term if the year goes well.
Alternatively, which I prefer, I like the Lakers trading for Kawhi (losing Ingram), which would likely be enough to attract George. Why not wait next year for Kawhi to sign? No guarantee he'll leave the Spurs, and he's a young MVP candidate. Top 5 player is worth losing Ingram (if he's healthy, which is also a contingency). Without him, we lose our opportunity to land George or another top player. Also, we keep some of our young talent on rookie contracts and have flexibility next summer. A better mix and a wider window.
I don't think George or any big name comes to our roster this summer without any guarantees of landing another all-star. If the Lakers come up dry this summer, I can see George taking a 1+1 with OKC, then waiting to see who we get next summer.

Re: How many big time names will the lakers get?
The Rockets were up against the Warriors 3-2 before CP got hurt and missed the last two games. Hate him or love him, CP's going down as a top-5 point guard of all time - at least.
Lebron has long bemoaned the lack of another playmaker, and cited the Warriors' collective intelligence as the biggest challenge.
And I doubt Lebron chooses Lonzo over CP.
I see them making moves together.

I have a feeling LBJ will dictate a lot of this.
I can see him pushing us to sign CP3, and getting us to trade for either PG or Kawhi.
