Brandon Ingram workout

Post#1 » by Slink » Sat Jun 23, 2018 12:54 am

We've seen Ball bulk up and heard about Kuz working out three times a day. I was looking up BI and found he was working out with the Skill Factory in Atlanta. Also he is working out now with Micah Lancaster, a trainer that works with Oladipo.

One thing I haven't seen yet is hitting the weights. He still has legs thinner than chopsticks.

I think he’ll be just as good as PG as soon as this season, and will be in the discussion as a top 15 player before the year is out.

I'm going to be more conservative and say a poor man's PG this season. Top 15 maybe later in his career.

I feel a lot better after hearing Windy day he thinks Lebron is coming with or without another star. That gives me hope that he wants to be for us what Kyrie was for the Cs, and is not going to push for us to make short sighted moves.

Sadly, I think the lack of muscle is just genetic...he can probably hit the weights all he wants, but the bulk might be minimal...just like KD....KD got a little bulkier as compared to his first few seasons, but I mean, he's still a twig....and Ingram looks even thinner than a rookie KD.....the good thing is that he can still finish around the rim.

I have liked recent posts that they've said they're willing to wait until 2019 - let's hope that's true sign FA's sure, but don't make trades :)

Man Pythagoras good point man. I don't want this guy traded.

He doesn't need to lift weights that only messes up a players shooting. something about this guy Damn he looks good this off season I see like 24 points per game this season. him and Lebron is going to be Nasty Do we really need George get the Center Cousins and Go Lebron Brandon Ingram and Demarcus Cousins.

This Dude is shooting the ball effortlesselly. he looks like KD. His shot is so beautiful.

Do not trade him for Kawaii we can't give this guy to the spurs. just like they don't want to trade Kawaii to us. I don't want to trade Brandon Ingram for him.

Brandon Ingram is the reward you get for Tanking and Losing all those games. that's why he is a number two pick.

And I stand by it. I would rather have Brandon Ingram then Ben Simmons. this is the guy I would rather have then Ben Simmons and you see why. look at his ability to shoot the ball. and he looks stronger to me.

Slink thank you for posting this man. I was hoping somebody would post Brandon Ingram off season workout videos. Like I said he's in the Gym working on his game trying to get better.

Heck no. He doesn’t have Leonard’s instincts, iq, anticipation and hands. Leonard has the fastest hands I’ve seen since Artest which is why he can strip a Curry in full dribble mode.

He will never have that defensive tenacity or attention to detail. He has too many blank out moments like when he lost his shoe ... he’s a bit of stoner personality wise.

Defensively, sure, he'll never be as strong as Leonard but he'll be a different type of defender that can put his length to use. He covers ground, Leonard is physical. Leonard's best asset is his lower body strength.. well it used to be till he got injured...

Ingram is so far ahead of him offensively that I don't even need to go into detail. He's already a better passer, playmaker, and ball handler. Ingram at age 20 is way ahead of KL at 20, again, not even close.

Oh I know he will score better. Coming out of college I thought Ingram had the ability to be Sonics Rashard Lewis and score naturally when he’s comfortable. The passing he’s done under Luke was a nice surprise. I would say he’s an average passer, above average scorer for his spot, and okay defender.

I think the thing is Kawhi does something great, not very good but great. He is a great defender with instincts you can’t really teach on and off the ball. He’s got what guys like Artest, Pippen, Payton had in them nightly mindset wise.

I even get the idea that Ingram and Kuzma both could start next to Lebron and George and learn from them, improving them immensely. I just don’t think either of them has top 5 player in the league potential, which Kawhi can make a claim to being before. I think Ingram as long as he stays healthy can steadily be a top 15-20 player and that Kuzma can be a top 10-15 guy. That’s just me though as I see more in Kuzma than Ingram

Maybe Ingram can learn from guys like Marion or Tayshaun Prince though and use that length to his advantage though.

In the comparison between Ingram and Kuz, I would simply refer them to different stage of Kobe, development wise, who actually improve year by year until the Achilles injury.

Kuzma is more of 2003 / 2004 stage of Kobe (just over the most vigorous development period, with fine techniques with matured body, getting stronger, trying to add 1-2more skills every season)
Ingram is more of a 2000 / 2001 Kobe (play with natural talent, immature body, seems to play with ease on court, refining his skills in all aspects)

Many player stopped their development in Kuz's current stage. When their body matured, they are what they look like. Kobe and James is quite exceptional in this regards where they improve continuously and adding weapons to their arsenal. Other notable names are Griffin and Kidd who added a respectable jump shot in the later part of their career. (Yes, to me, shooting, in a certain degree, may be one of the easiest technique/skill to master ). Can Kuz do the same ? Time will tell. That's why, I have larger hope on Ingram's development and what he can be when he physically matured. Looking like he will make a leap soon.
