Provides some reasoning to recent signings that LBJ approved as well. Im sure there are still people who will post that this is cover up to bad signings because they have an anti-LA agenda.

Seems like we will finally be seeing LBJ in the post this year, although the article states it will be hard for him to break some habits.

Those signings have some defensive merit, but lack the shooting that the Lakers need. So there are questions as to some of the pickups.

Doesn't mean its hating to ask them.

For instance the Rondo signing is kind of a head scratcher with Lonzo and Hart in town. I mean Rondo had a really nice year last season and the Pelicans are going to feel that loss, but Lonzo is a very similar player, albeit 6'6".

That also explains why the Lakers moved away from Randle. With LeBron playing the post (and presumably the 4), not much room for Randle starting at either the 4 or 5.

Lebron with passers instead of shooters means even more defenders on Lebron which means more physical play and energy exerted by an aging Lebron. Seems a poor strategy

Love it.

I have been complaining about this aspect of Lebron's game since the 2008 olympics. He should have always been in the role as a designated finisher (like 2nd 3-peat MJ), instead of trying to balance the act of being a finisher and a playmaker. Doing both just waste too much energy and the toll it was taking shows in Lebron's defense since 2014.

Hart plays the 2 or 3, not the 1. The Lakers badly need a backup at the 1.

I dont mind the Rondo signing, feel like he will come off the bench or force lonzo to learn how to play off the ball. I just dont understand the lance signing. KCP and Hart are better than lance as it is. Hopefully the last signing is brook lopez, he was underrated last year (contested shots, decent shooter, can bang down low)

This. Hart cant pass to save his life, but has decent size for a sg and can shoot.

Lebron at pf is great cause he'll be in pick n pops and rolls as a screener, something that worked fairly well with george hill despite him being a very basic passer with little creativity and variety

Very similar players in that they move the ball. Maybe the Lakers don’t want to have a different pace in the second unit and want to keep running.

It was towards the end of the year, we had no players left lol. But i do know, improving his ball handling was the main thing he was working on this summer

Thats funny, because when I watched the Lakers play the other night Hart started at the 1.

You know Rondo can shoot threes now though right?

The only person who can't shoot threes in that starting lineup is the center. And if they sign Brook Lopez, even the center position will be able to shoot.

Surrounding Lebron with nothing but shooters and relying completely on him to generate shots for himself and others uses more energy than anything.

The Lakers are not just "passers" they are playmakers. They can create a shot for themselves or for others. Lebron will get to be the recipient of an assist for a change and will feel less pressure to create everything himself.

Kuzma and Ingram are willing scorers and all of the current guys will take the open shot or move the ball until they find one. It's the way the game is supposed to be played. Not just 4 guys watching Lebron dribble.

What doesn't make any sense is Lonzo and Lance AND Rondo. Two of them, fine, I still don't like it but ok. It's triple redundancy of guys who shouldn't be playing together regularly. If Brons gonna live in the post it'd be way more helpful to have a couple guys who can hit an outside shot to spread the floor.

Similar in that they move the ball, rebound, defend, and not known as great shooters. Although Rondo shot it much better last year and punished teams for leaving him wide open at times.

It could also signal another move coming.

I like what you said about pace and that is a good point.

Mo Wagner shoots 3's. He's got a really nice looking shot for a big man.

We have versatile play makers that can switch on defense.

Theyre all 1 year signings to create cap space for another max or two.

Should this kind of line up be successful, great.

Thats just summer league. He wanted to show off his handles since that's what he's been working on during the summer.
