Source close to Carmelo Anthony says the #Lakers are one of Melo’s preferred destinations, and that he's high on chance to finally play with #LeBron. Keep in mind too, that Carmelo owns a house in LA.

Come to LA. Put back on number 15 and play with Lebron to close your career.

Melo's Nunbers

37.5% from 3 in Catch and Shoot situations
41.9% from 3 when he's wide open (closest defender 6+ feet away)
169 threes made (most in career)

He also shot the fewest 2 point field goals of his career in OKC at 694 (besides 15 where he played 50 games) which further highlights the fact Donovan misused the **** out of him

- Melo increased his spot ups this year by 65% over his last year in NY
- Roll Man down 290% of what it was previously
- Iso down 15%
- PnR Ball Handler down 30%.
- Handoffs down 78%.

Come to a team that can use you and someone who knows you in both Luke and Lebron ... PG13 shot 43% himself with that Russ and Donovan **** show

No thanks. Guy has become what all his haters a while ago caricatured. Looks lost when trying to attack on the dribble, and a weak sieve of a defender/post defender. A net negative on the court and amazingly unclutch this previous year while exhibiting more steps lost than previous. Definite pass.

I am of the thought process that no one feeds Melo better than Lebron or CP3 from watching him be a 4 and small ball 5 on team USA. I think he knows it too and that’s why those are his top spots. That said I dont expect Denver Melo, I expect something between OKC last year and his last season in NY

I say ok... with the right mind set and role he could be lethal.
Magic and Bron should be able to make him understand the role which is basically coming off the bench and scoring.

No way.
New York couldn't wait to get rid of him.
OKC will pay him $20 + million to go away.
That should tell us something.

He is also a huge liability on defense.
He'd take minutes away from Kuz and others.
The ball just comes to a complete stop when he gets it on offense.
His attitude is that he should be a starter.

Please pass on this guy.
We dodged a huge bullet not signing him as a FA a few years ago.
And he's worse now.

"I think the player that they wanted me to be and needed me to be was for the sake of this season," Anthony said. "Everything was just thrown together and it wasn't anything that was planned out. Wasn't no strategy to me being here, me being a part of the actual system and what type of player and things like that."

He's not stupid. I think that is an indictment on Russ (overgrown Iverson) and DOnovan both. I would think Magic, PElinka, Bron all have the sense to at least pitch basketball and basketball fit to Melo which the Thunder didn't and years ago Mitch/Jim blanked on.

I'd counter the indictment on thunder as sounds like excuses for terrible personal play which is what he showed last year.

The identity of this team is built around passing and defense. Melo does neither. Don't want him anywhere near this squad. Can't build a culture of selfless basketball with the league's most selfish player.

What about countering him telling fs1 he was told by Donovan to stop trying to rebound in the paint so Russ can get them and then Russ getting indignant about Skip Bayless and others calling him a stat padder?

Paul George shot 43% himself to placate the style Russ plays yet people ignore that he had to attempt a career high in 3s with 608 to keep the floor open for him, much like Melo had to vacate the post and his isos for Russ.

Westbrook is still in OKC. HE is the guy who has his coaches say don't grab rebounds so his stats look good, didn't even deny he said it when the media questioned Melo's comments, just got pissy. He is the guy who took over 400 more shots than Melo and was chucking so much so KD left and Sabonix/Olidapo found themselves away from him. Westbrook is the guy who was go shut that **** down so much vs Rubio he tried to solo the Jazz and got them eliminated with dumb ass shot, dribble, dribble, throw it to you with 2 seconds, dribble, dumb ass shot, whine, not get back, and throw a hissy fit routine vs rookie Mitchell

Well in that case, sounds like he airs team issues to the media at the least, or possible still making excuses for his bad play. Nothing melo showed made me think he deserved anything resembling more isos. Obviously playing with a westbrook doesn't allow guys who are used to being the main scorer on their team get the usage or playing style they believe they would succeed in. But even if his excuses he presented are true, he displays himself as a player who needs to be in a specific style of play, but what he shows on the court does not give any reason for any coach or team to pursue catering to that.

I think the Thunder could have used him better. Even when he was with the second unit, it made no sense to me to have Melo spotting up with guys like Felton on the floor. Same goes for George too tbh. They had a terrible O scheme IMO. I don't think they made the deals or idea of making the roster fit as much as get two names to get Russ to sign the max extension.

Like I said he isn't as bad as the Thunder made him look. He isn't as good as he was in Denver. I think he's more or less his last Knicks season. Melo took more threes and made more threes last year than ever. HE also attempted the least amount of 2s he's ever taken and had his lowest field goal percentage ever which correlates. Melo even in his prime was a box and elbow guy who bullied people, drew fouls, and had the ability to score down there yet the Thunder said clear out for Russ. HE for his career had always been one of the best boarding SF in the league, yet they told him early on when he was trying to get them, box out and let Russ get that stat. It is hard to make it work when they clearly had no goal to utilize Melo as opposed to just using his name to get Russ to sign

As much as Olympic Melo brings a championship to La sounds like a wonderful fairy tale that's all it is. You want him taking ingram, kuz, or who's minutes?
