Well, we do this every season. What's your league predictions for the regular season and statistical prediction for the Lakers? Due to the mathematics involved with actually predicting the records, I'm just going to guess "around" the number of wins each team will have.

15- Sacramento Kings (About 22-25 wins)
Eastern Conference Standings

The rest of the roster is going to be mixed and matched depending on the line-ups we're playing against.
Wild Predictions:
- As mentioned above, Jimmy Butler is traded to the Celtics after the trade restrictions are lifted on free agents who signed this past summer and the Wolves get off to a horrible start. Boston agrees to trade Jaylen Brown, Rozier and fillers.
- John Wall is traded at the trade deadline to the Knicks for Tim Hardaway, Frank Ntilikina and a 2020 protected 1st round pick. The Wizards, surprisingly go on a late season surge after the deal but fall short of the playoffs.
- KD (1 year deal) and Klay Thompson (5 year deal) re-sign with the Warriors after they win a 3rd straight NBA Championship in a 7 game series against the Boston Celtics. Durant wants to play in the new arena for 1 year before he signs with the Knicks as a free agent in 2020.
- The Lakers sign Kawhi Leonard.
- Portland fires Terry Stotts at the end of the season. Paul Allen & Neil Olshey meet with Damian Lillard after the season and tell him it would help the organization to trade him for younger assets. To make the exit easier, they agree to trade him wherever he wants. Lillard chooses the Lakers. They agree to trade him to the Lakers for a package involving the last year of Deng's deal, Brandon Ingram, Wagner and the Lakers 2019 first round pick. Deal is agreed to before the draft and completed after the moratorium.
I will continue adding to my predictions as I think more about them.

Re: Official Predictions Thread!
I'm placing Lakers 4th ... as long as Injuries don't occur - touch wood - or too many of them?
Also I would not in a million years do that above trade for Lillard - I like the dude, but to trade him basically deng/ingram? Fook no ... Even if it's just to get Deng off the books - Ingram gonna be a star if not superstar in due time.
No need to trade for Lillard when we have Ball and also back up Rondo who still got a few more years left.
- KL signs next year then we go after Klay? Let's hope we can show not only GSW but the league we can bang with the big boys and on our way up.
A trio of Lebron, KL and Klay all via FA and keeping our young core
- that's the dream
If not KLAY I would go after AD OR KAT

50-32 6th seed. We beat the Jazz in the 1st round and then lose in semis to either GSW/Hou.

Re: Official Predictions Thread!
I don't do wins and I don't care about the East.
Here's my two cents tho', year one:
1.Warriors
2.Rockets
3.Thunder
4.Jazz
5.Denver
6.Lakers
7.Pelicans
8.Spurs
Warriors beat the Spurs
Rockets beat the Pelicans
Jazz beat Denver
And yes, we upset the Thunder.
Warriors beat the Jazz.
And yes, we upset the Rockets.
But that's the end of the road for us. WCF. I think the team will have some growing pains because of the new faces, thus the 6th seed in the end. But I absolutely think we'll shift gears somewhere in March and that will get us going through the playoffs as well.
We're not winning against the Warriors under no circumstances without Kawhi, but I do think we're getting as far as we can in our conference, and that's the Conference Finals.

Re: Official Predictions Thread!
Utah & Denver aren’t better than the Lakeshow... Teams will be ready for Mitchell & Denver is Denver...
1. Houston (GS better but will lock up 1st)
2. GS (Goes through them still)
3. Lakers (LBJ & the young bucks)
4. Thunder (Russ & his girl)
5. Utah (Plays hard, Mitchell is a Target)
6. Wolves (Starter play 46 minutes)
7. Portland (Chip on shoulder)
8. New Orleans (Better without Boogie)
Spurs could take New Orleans spot as they will miss Rondo... Lakeshow Baby...

Re: Official Predictions Thread!
Lakers should be a third seed or no more than a game or two from there. If they’re more than that then either Lebron got hurt or the youngsters are disappointing.

East:
1. Boston
2. Philly
3. Toronto
4. Indy
5. Milwaukee
6. Washington
7. Miami
8. Detroit
West:
1. GSW
2. Houston
3. OKC
4. LAL
5. Utah
6. Den
7. Minny
8. NOP
I think the Jazz is trending toward being overrated. An excellent rookie campaign from Mitchell has many over valuing his impact. Some even think he's extremely close to superstar status.
