The rest of the roster is going to be mixed and matched depending on the line-ups we're playing against.
Wild Predictions:
- As mentioned above, Jimmy Butler is traded to the Celtics after the trade restrictions are lifted on free agents who signed this past summer and the Wolves get off to a horrible start. Boston agrees to trade Jaylen Brown, Rozier and fillers.
- John Wall is traded at the trade deadline to the Knicks for Tim Hardaway, Frank Ntilikina and a 2020 protected 1st round pick. The Wizards, surprisingly go on a late season surge after the deal but fall short of the playoffs.
- KD (1 year deal) and Klay Thompson (5 year deal) re-sign with the Warriors after they win a 3rd straight NBA Championship in a 7 game series against the Boston Celtics. Durant wants to play in the new arena for 1 year before he signs with the Knicks as a free agent in 2020.
- The Lakers sign Kawhi Leonard.
- Portland fires Terry Stotts at the end of the season. Paul Allen & Neil Olshey meet with Damian Lillard after the season and tell him it would help the organization to trade him for younger assets. To make the exit easier, they agree to trade him wherever he wants. Lillard chooses the Lakers. They agree to trade him to the Lakers for a package involving the last year of Deng's deal, Brandon Ingram, Wagner and the Lakers 2019 first round pick. Deal is agreed to before the draft and completed after the moratorium.
I will continue adding to my predictions as I think more about them.
