LaVar Ball says LeBron James' son Bronny 'not good enough' for JBA
LeBron James Jr., better known as Bronny James, is only 13 years old and already has a larger following than most five-star high school seniors, in part because his dad is arguably the greatest basketball player alive, but also because the kid can straight hoop.
However, not everyone is on the Bronny hype train, namely LaVar Ball, who doesn’t think Bronny is talented enough to play in his Junior Basketball Association (JBA). When asked if he’d ever consider pursuing Bronny for the JBA, LaVar told TMZ he’s not convinced the eighth grader is a good fit for his league.
“He gotta try out and make sure he’s good enough,” LaVar said. “He’s not good enough. He’s only like 14 years old … Yeah, he’s good enough for college, but the JBA is a step above that.”
According to USA Today High School Sports, Bronny James has already garnered interest from some of the most prestigious basketball programs in the country, including the University of Kentucky and Duke University.
Perhaps Bronny wouldn’t make the JBA because of his age, but the argument that he’s good enough for college and not the JBA is flawed, to say the least. But LaVar says whacky, uninformed things like this constantly — what makes this time any different?
This isn’t the first time LaVar has commented on James’ kids and, as you can imagine, LeBron wasn’t thrilled about it the first time around.
“Keep my kids’ name out of your mouth. Keep my family out of your mouth,” James said of LaVar Ball to ESPN. “This is dad to dad. It’s a problem now.”
James will be playing alongside LaVar’s oldest son, Lonzo, on the Lakers this upcoming season. If the problem with LaVar persists, it’s not hard to imagine James using his star power to find a way to get the Ball circus out of Los Angeles, especially because the organization has had their own share of issues with LaVar in the past.
For Lonzo’s sake, let’s hope it doesn’t come to that

I'm actually not a huge lebron fan but he's right here. Its a bitch move to trash a player's son like that when you're involved in the nba (in whatever regard lavar is)

Was Lavar Ball necessary is a more appropriate question. He might get his mealticket sent to a small market if he doesn't stop chirping at the team leader.... that the ownership has been wanting for 8 years now...

Call me crazy but I wouldn’t brush this off as nothing considering Lebron very clearly and sternly told him to stop talking about his kids, and now he does it again after Lebron joined the team?

Why this clown would say that is mind boggling. If the rumors were to be believed we were putting Lonzo in trade options earlier in the summer. This stuff keeps up and the FO may do it again.... sooner rather than later.

Re: LaVar Ball says LeBron James' son Bronny 'not good enough' for JBA
On the one hand, it's totally not "ridiculous" to suggest Bronny would have to try out for the JBA... In fact it's probably a good thing for both sides...
That said, LaVar probably should know better than to talk about LeBron's kids... Yes, I do believe he's a lot smarter than people assume and most of this is calculated... Which makes him responsible in some way.

Do you think LeBron might want to keep his kid out of the spotlight for as long as he can, let him be a kid and play ball.
Lavar,
STFU.
The next visit from Magic will be to tell you they’re trading Lonzo to Toronto or Milwaukee.

The best way he can help his son now is to forever STFU but he can’t even do that. You brought him to the spotlight, now get off the stage and be quiet.

Lebron wouldn't let his kid play in that cheezy league...
