Most likely, but it isnt going to reflect in the record. You put the Cavs last year in the West and they are anywhere from the 5-8th seed.

I think the real question is - If the Cavs were in the west last few years, do you think they'd go as far as they would being in the west, like they did in east?

Depends on whether Lebron slows down

If not, we're easily better

If he does, good chance to be equal or worse than last year's Cavs

Lebron individually is so goddamn great and impactful, it really does solely hinge on him, how good of a season the Lakers will have

Current Lakers supporting cast better at:

Defense
Athleticism
Scoring
Playmaking
Length
Speed

Worse at:

FT shooting
3PT shooting

I mean, that was a championship contender... So NO.

Let's be a little realistic, and not let a decent showing against a GSW team that clearly has 'Senior-itis' and was only sorta trying go to our head...

We're optimistically projecting as the 5th seed in the West... And most people think that's nuts.

It's going to be a long season with a lot of bumps and unknowns... No way we can call ourselves better than the ECF winner last season.

Most definitely yes. The amount of athleticism on this Lakers team compared to the Cavs team is lopsided. Whatever skill level advantage the Cavs team may have had over this Lakers' team is miniscule in comparison. Of course chemistry is so important in Basketball. so the question is can all these new Lakers, including Lebron, gel relatively quick with the Laker teammates.

Yeah, Love is a better 2nd option than Ingram but i don't think its that huge of a gap and on balance we have a much better roster (then again, everyone on that cavaliers team besides Lebron and Love played way below potential anyway).

To be a contender you actually have to be competition, that team did not compete and only got through cause

1. Lebron
2. Toronto choked hard

Yes. Losing Kyrie obviously killed their big three, but the east is that bad outside of Boston.

Aside from Kevin Love/Nance at center, the Lakers are far better, at least two players ahead at every position.

That Cavs team had no chance of winning a championship. They would have been knocked out in the 2nd round if they were in the West.

0 chance they beat last year's Rockets or Warriors in a 7 game series.

We don't know how well the Lakers will gel and perform as a team yet, but as far as individual talent this Laker team clearly has way more than last year's Cavs.

None of the Cav's starters would start on this team except Lebron and possibly a healthy Love.

Assuming they are able to play decently well together (which the pre-season indicates is likely), this Laker team is clearly better.

Their downfall is that they are in the West.

If we played Warriors in a series I bet we take one game. So that makes us better.

Man these baby like questions are kinda redundant. That Cavs team was a contender but it was in a weak east. But that Cavs team was also old, slow, unathletic and one way players that crippled Bron's playmaking ability more than anything. This is why Magic and Rob went another way with this team. So yeah it's better
