Lineups you've liked so far

Post#1 » by zimpy27 » Tue Oct 23, 2018 10:33 pm

It's been early but what are some of your opinions on the groupings you've seen on the floor?

Currently, I would separate the team into 2 trios that have good chemisty:

Hart, Svi, Lance

Rondo, KCP, Ingram

I think LeBron, Kuzma, McGee fit with either of these separate groups.

I haven't seen any group where Lonzo has fit well yet, team seems to get into a losing deficit with him on the floor so far. It's possible he could replace Rondo and play with KCP and Ingram but haven't seen yet. This isn't hating on Lonzo btw.

Still plenty more lineup combos to see but this is what I have seen so far.

Not sure on any thing I've seen so far, but it would have to include because everyone else at the 5 hurts.

I thought Lonzo and LeBron looked great next to each other last night. I think they can develop great chemistry. And I think Ingram could fit next to them. With McGee at the 5. And Hart out there as well.

With Kuzma as 6th man on court with Rondo. Kuzma needs the ball and would do well as the primary option next to Rondo.

This is a simple rotation I'd like to see right now.

1st start: Hart, Ingram, LeBron, Kuzma, McGee
1st 6 mins: Ronzo, KCP, Ingram, LeBron, Kuzma
1st 2 mins: Ronzo, KCP, Ingram, Kuzma, Williams
2nd 10 mins: Hart, Lance, Svi, LeBron, McGee
2nd 4 mins: Ronzo, Hart, Lance, Svi, Williams
3rd start: Hart, Ingram, LeBron, Kuzma, McGee
3rd 6 mins: Ronzo, KCP, Ingram, LeBron, Kuzma
3rd 2 mins: Ronzo, KCP, Lance, Svi, Williams
4th 8 mins: Hart, Ingram, LeBron, Kuzma, McGee

LeBron 34, Kuzma 32, Ingram 32, Hart 30, McGee 26, Ronzo 22, KCP 18, Lance 16, Svi 16, Williams 12

Rondo and kids
Best O and D combo both by the eye test and stats. Small sample size of 4mpg, fun to watch:

Rondo - Lonzo - Hart - Ingram - Kuzma

Rondo - Pope - Ingram - James - Kuzma
They have played well together at times but Rondo and Pope will soon lead the bench mob anyway.

For stretches here and there, I would like to see:
Rondo - Lonzo - Hart - James - Kuzma and also
Lonzo - Hart - Ingram - Kuzma - McGee

Starters:
Lonzo - Hart - James - Kuzma - McGee

Bench:
Rondo - Pope - Stephenson - Ingram - Williams

Here's what my rotation would be:

PG: Ball [23]/ Rondo [25]/
SG: Ingram [32]/ Ball [8]/ Hart [8]/
SF: Kuzma [25]/ Hart [23]/
PF: LeBron [34]/ Stephenson [14]/
C: McGee [25]/ Kuzma [10]/ Williams [13]/

Kuzma: 35 MPG
LeBron: 34 MPG
Ingram: 32 MPG
Ball: 31 MPG
Hart: 31 MPG
Rondo: 25 MPG
McGee: 25 MPG
Stephenson: 14 MPG
Williams: 13 MPG

Stagger LeBron and Ingram so that one of them is on the court at all times.

In 3 games we’ve seen no 2 where we’ve had the same rotations so it’s a little early to have any data.

When everyone is back I’d keep Rondo, McGee and Bron together in the starting lineup for sure. Other than that I’d try other combos around them.

I just watched the film & Svi needs KCP’s minutes. He’s so much smarter and a better team defender. Much better playmaker then I realized. @LakerFilmRoom are you seeing what I’m seeing?"

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... They seem to compliment each other.

We have a little issue about who to play next to Rondo and Ball, depending on who's in the game and assuming we want them playing similar roles... Due to Ball's size, the guy that fits next to him and covers the smaller guards on the perimeter, probably isn't a great fit next to Rondo and visa versa... I feel like Hart's the most universal in that...

I feel like we need to compliment Ball like we did Magic and Kobe and get a small/quick 3 and D guard to help on the perimeter and let him focus on the offense and play more interior D.

Hart, KCP and Lance are all better fits next to Rondo than they are Ball.

I love when I get my wish. Gonna be fun to watch this lineup crush the Suns!

I wonder if Ingram would accept a 6th man scoring role

Yeah Hart and Lance have good chemistry, I like Svi with them as well as I outlined in the OP. I agree that Ball isn't finding great chemistry yet.

I agree. Svi's shooting has been horrible, but his defense and passing have been surprisingly good. I like what he does out there. Even if I'm still waiting for him to hit some god damn 3s.
