This thread is gonna be short and sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! - needed the extra E's
I'm old school guy and miss the 80's 90's
I'm loving the combo of Mcgee and The Chandler Effect
When we are ahead I'd love to see a line up of
C) Chandler Effect
PF) Mcgee
SF) Bron
SG) King Kuz Or Hart
PG) Hart/Ball
Surround Mcgee and Chandler with shome shooters Maybe not Ball But Hart at point ???
I'm talking when we are ahead by like 10+ points and want to stay ahead but also have some fun etc can work for a good 10 min or so NO?

I wouldn't do that. We know McGee's situation. He can only play for limited minutes and Chandler is our only "reliable" another center at the moment. Basically, when one is in the other one is out. Putting them in together makes no sense especially that they have the same style of play.

What if we're up by 10+ by half time surly they can play in the 3rd together to help maintain the lead and/or get even higher with their defense and rebounds ? then rest them late in the 3rd around 5 min mark and give the rest for 4th quarters?
I'm not saying they have to play a tone of minutes together, just a short spurt like 4-8 min when we are ahead

just to help out with defense and rebounds etc and to mix things up

10+ points is not safe with us right now. We have this sudden melt down almost every game. It seems exciting on a defensive stand point but offensively I think spacing will be a problem. If you really want a twin tower then consider McGee / Chandler + Zubac / Wagner. Zubac and Wagner has a different skill set than McGee and Chandler so it might work.

Naw that’s not a good fit. Neither of them should be playing the 4. Our center rotation since Chandler signed is the last thing that needs tweaking.

I think you need to bust out the VCR, and watch old tapes of past Laker games.....the Twin-Tower thing is done.
Very happy with our two centers....but the league won't let you get away with having 2 guys who can't spread the floor nowadays.

There is near zero chance of a McGee/chandler lineup working
In fact, that’s one of my favorite things about them. That they CANNOT be on the floor at the same time

the only reason that worked in the past was because gasol was able to play the mid-post with bynum down low. and when bynum went out, gasol slid down low with odom taking his place.
that won't work with chandler and mcgee

Twin towers only works if one of them can face up and break defenses down from outside the paint... Duncan was more of a faceup Forward when he played with Robinson... Hakeem was too, with Sampson... And both of those combos were only marginally successful and short lived... Robinson was out of the lineup pretty fast as Duncan became great... Sampson disappeared pretty quick too...
In essence, LeBron/McGee is as close to a twin-towers as we're going to get and still win basketball games.

With a 3PT shooting 7’ PF next to Chandler or JMG, sure.
I would love to see what Wagner can do at the four starting off garbage time in a lineup of Ball, Ingram, LBJ, Wagner, Chandler. That’s some beastly length to go through to get to the hoop.

Shaq / Elden
Pau / Bynum
McGee / Chandler

I hear it. Not the biggest fan of "position-less basketball" myself. It is what it is, I guess. Perhaps that pendulum will swing back the other way? With guys getting softer and softer, and playing the 3.....along will come a guy ala Shaq....who will just dominate, and destroy the froppish, wispy, modern NBA player.

I remember Kobe saying something like this about post play in one of his detail episodes. Players dont like the post and like even less defending post play. It showed a clip of Bird and Magic each posting up, disputing that Magic just ran fastbreaks and Bird was just a shooter. "Thats were you put the most pressure on the defense" is was what Kobe said.

I love the old ways but this would be a disaster. the spacing would be horrible, defense wwould suck too. One center with a lot of mobile guys around him that can switch on defense.
This would give us one less mobile guy on the floor

We don't have shooters so I don't seem why spacing is a big deal - now you probably gonna say we gotta get Lebum space to do his thing? - F him lols this team can't shoot and we gotta get our own style...
no point in running offense that is set for when you have shooters, when you have none
just imo

Fun idea.
Rather win the game though.
