Roster Discussion: Trades/Buyouts/Free Agents

Post#1 » by TylersLakers » Sun Nov 25, 2018 12:58 am

Figured we could use a good thread like this considering the trade rumours will be hot and heavy come mid-December.

We have 15 roster spots as of right now after the addition of Chandler.

PG: Lonzo [7.4M]/ Rondo [9.0M]/ Bonga [1.0M]
SG: Ingram [5.75M]/ KCP [12.0M]/ Svi [1.5M]
SF: LeBron [35.65M]/ Hart [1.65M]/ Stephenson [4.45M]/
PF: Kuzma [1.7M]/ Beasley [3.5M]/
C: McGee [1.5M]/ Chandler [1.3M]/ Wagner [1.8M]/ Zubac [1.54M]

2 Way: Alex Caruso, PG - Johnathan Williams, PF/C

--------------

Zubac, Beasley could easily be waived and that would give us an additional roster spot. I would imagine those two + Stephenson, Rondo, one of the younger pieces could be available at the trade deadline for additional pieces.

Would anyone cut bait on Zubac right now and give someone like Jodie Meeks a look? Or would you wait to see what other names become available?

Players I could see as buyout candidates:

- Wesley Matthews, SG/SF, Dallas Mavericks
- Kenneth Farried, PF/C, Brooklyn Nets
- DeMarre Carroll, SF/PF, Brooklyn Nets
- Trevor Ariza, SF/SG/PF, Phoenix Suns
- Robin Lopez, C, Chicago Bulls
- Jeremy Lin, PG/SG, Atlanta Hawks
- Zach Randolph, Sacramento Kings
- Jared Dudley, Brooklyn Nets

If we somehow managed to land Ariza/Matthews/Carroll that would be amazing down the stretch.

Mathews, Farried, or Ariza would be nice. Any two of those three

Isn't Ariza already washed up? Matthews and Carroll would be ideal 3&D guys to fit in perfectly next to LeBron.

Matthews and Ariza are tough to acquire unless Rondo or KCP are included, which i doubt will happen. Faried could be had by giving up Beas-Lance+ incentive - maybe a 2nd rounder. Wouldn't mind having an energy guy like Faried.

I would look at Justin Holiday from Chicago as a trade candidate. He's been good this year and i dont see him being a long term option in Chicago. Maybe Jeremy Lin, Dewayne Dedmon from Atlanta. Trey Burke and Vonleh from NY.

This season has been a bit weird because we've got a lot of teams that are competing for playoff spots in both conferences and very few tanking teams. Next month or so is going to be interesting because we see a few teams starting to drop out of the playoff race.

In a perfect world, the Suns buy out Ariza who we then pick up at the minimum, then we trade Lance/beas/future 2nd for a sniper like Wayne Ellington.
