Caldwell-Pope is on a one-year, $12 million contract.
Didn't know this was in his was in his contract.
Anyone on a one year deal who will have early bird or bird rights gets the right to veto. If they’re traded, they automatically forfeit early bird/bird rights, so they get the right to decline to be traded. The idea behind that is to prevent teams from circumventing sign n trade rules.
Keep in mind though he has a trade bonus, so he’d get a nice 1mil+ bonus for allowing himself to be traded.
