Dont see why we're all that interest. KCP and Ariza are pretty interchangeable honestly.

Ariza’s length would be a big bonus on the defensive end, not to mention his experience in big moments.

As long as it’s just a net of Kcp for ariza straight up, I’ll take it

Just my opinion, but this seems like it has more to do with rich Paul getting KCP out of here so he can get paid than it does improving the Lakers

You'd have to imagine Ariza will be bought out.. we could probably just wait.

KCP is so good defending smaller guards and we'll miss that ability big time. Also, Ariza's effort this year has been horrible at times. Is that just because he's playing for a team going nowhere? That was the case with Chandler. Hopefully it would be the same with Trev.

All in all, working with Rich Paul to get KCP to a place where he can make a big contract is obviously important with the Klutch connection, Anthony Davis, LeBron, etc.

Ariza does provide more stability and would be huge in the locker room.

I think Ariza is one of the more over-rated ex Lakers in my memory... Not sure why we'd be putting a bunch of thought/effort into trying to acquire him...

Yes please. Do you guys remember how good the rox were last year? Yes cp3 and Harden had a lot to do with it but Ariza and tucker were huge parts for the rox. Now look at the rox. Ariza will help a lot. He will do what we kind of hoped Ingram could adapt too.

Having him certainly gives us more versatility defensively. KCP is just so small and struggles in switches, which is what will happen in the playoffs.

Also, if Ingram gets sent to the bench.. not a bad 9 man rotation.

PG: Lonzo/Rondo
SG: Ariza/ Hart
SF: LeBron/ Ingram
PF: Kuzma/
C: McGee/ Chandler/

Bring him back. I have fond memories of Ariza from our title run so he's always welcome. Also he would do a great deal to help us defensively. Can't see why not for us if KCP is all we're paying.

I think KCP does a good job guarding quick guards tho. Any chance of trading Beas & Lance instead? I would probably include a couple of 2nd's.

Need to pony up 9.9 million dollars in salaries to make our a legal trade

Lance 4.49 mil
Beasley 3.50 mil

Need to make up 1.91 mil in raw salary. Like sign Caruso or Wear or any of our leftover cap holds to the deal using their Bird rights and send them on their merry way

You guys wouldn't be getting Caldwell-Pope. The Suns apparently want a point guard and a draft pick, which is where the third team needs to come in.

Caldwell-Pope has veto power on a trade, but the Lakers have shown an ability to work with his agent, Rich Paul, if there's a deal that might increase his role and possibly get him signed to a deal this summer with a new team, league sources said. Caldwell-Pope is on a one-year, $12 million contract.

Didn't know this was in his was in his contract.

Huh ? You really believe KCP has the length to defend the likes of KD ?

He will have Early Bird rights at the end of the season as this is his second year of the contract (1+1). Since he is under a one year contract, and will lose the Early Bird rights after the trade, he has veto power.
