Love or hate lonzo, he gave mins at PG that the lakers needed.

Now with lonzo out a month or two, lebron out and rondo out! The lakers are down to the lance stephonson show for point guard duties.

We can play some point Ingram.

We can run out the kcp/hart guard combo that worked last year.


But I really think the lakers need a stopgap pg right now.

I don’t know if we can find 48 mins of PG play from lance/Ingram/kcp/hart

I imagine Rondo will be back on Thursday. Hopefully LeBron next Sunday. So that'll help things. When Rondo's not in the game, I imagine we'll see a lot of LeBron at PG with Zubac, Kuzma, Hart, KCP surrounding him. Run lots of pick and roll with Zubac, kick out to open shooters.

I do think we need to make a move at the deadline/buyout market. We'll need to make a move to open up a roster spot and how we do that will be the question. The obvious move is with Bonga. But will a team really take him on when he has a guaranteed year next year?

Caruso is the only PG left. I think we'll be playing him.

If Rondo isn't back we'll see Ingram getting the bulk of the duties. Not sure how I feel about that. In short stints he can be a creator and a facilitator but he tends to really slow down the ball movement. It takes him so long to do what he sets out to do.

Well, could always trade with Mavs for DSJ if its 8-12weeks. Would probably cost tho. If its worst case (12 weeks) I really think it will be tough for Lakers to get to the playoff

Rondo is very close and Bron is getting a lot closer. Once those 2 are back missing Ball will not be a loss that will be significant.

That Austin Rivers buyout happened a few weeks early. Would've been a natural fit in NY.

Rondo who's barely played and still out for some time. Lebron out. Lonzo out 4-8 weeks. Last PG standing **** Caruso.

Trade market for PGs is terrible. None are expiring or small, plenty have more than 1 year remaining so its a no go since we gotta preserve cap. Best on the market is expiring Lin but his deal is sizable. Only way to trade for him is with KCP, but KCP has a no trade, ugh.

Just about the only trade path i see is a 3 way involving HOU (trading Knight + FRP). KCP pretty much wont waive it for any scrub team if he thinks he'll get stuck on the bench. HOU is wrecked by injuries and can inflate his stats, which is practically the ONLY team i see KCP willing to goto.

Otherwise, i cant think of any other decent options that are readily available and teams wont be trying to rip us off hardcore due to our glaring PG situation.

Isaiah Canaan is available, MCW also free agent. Might be better than Caruso potentially as a backup.

And, you were right.

I like Caruso as well but it seems many here doesn't want him. I say Caruso is decent because he has a good BBIO and a good passer. Also make good plays. Give him a shot even only until Rondo and LeBron are back. I'm not sure I'd like BI or Lance play full time PG.
