He'll be the head coach this year. He won't next year barring a deep, deep run into the playoffs. That's just the reality and I think that's been known since LeBron agreed to come here on July 1.

Sorry Luke, but I don't have much sympathy for him. He's been somewhere around "okay" as coach of the Lakers. I think he has the potential to be a great coach with some serious staff changes but it doesn't seem like that's likely or else it probably would have happened by now.

I'd prefer Lebron start freaking playing again, as well.

Walton has been "meh" this year, so I get it. My big fear is when they make the change, they go after someone like Mark Jackson or J-Kidd. :banghead:

This is the downfall of having Lebron on your team. He’s been a spoiled brat since he got in the league. He always gets what he wants because of his superior talent. Like many have said this is Lebron’s team now unfortunately. Everyone else is just a puppet.

I get it. I’ve never been a Lebron fan at all. But I understand he’s one of the top 5 players ever to play the game. I was excited when he joined the lakers because we finally were relevant again.

Cool. “LeBron’s camp” also signed a 3 yr deal, so they can chill with these strong arm moves

It's one of those "Yeh Nah" type of moments. I'm just not that excited about him - just doesn't do it for me. I guess growing up in the late 80's 90's I'm old school and miss Kobe a tone, when it comes to Lebron he doesn't get me excited - now on the other hand if we ended up getting KL or KD etc B4 him they get me more excited then Lebron

I have many, many reason why I don't like him, but no need for that here - we all have our likes and dislikes

Why won’t Lebron just coach the Lakers in as much as he seems to know everything?

After the Melo news, now this? I don't know what else he will demand if this is true. So, personally, I would prefer to trade LeBron for Kawhi, AD, Giannis or KD. Especially now that LeBron is seemingly starting to have injury issues. I don't want to end up with a team with old washed-out players, no young core, possibly a puppet coach and a LeBron James sitting on the sidelines because of injuries in the next 3 to 4 years.

How many games with our best five in the starting lineup now again? Yeah. I didn’t think so.

LeBron’s camp, including Bwyan Hindwürst, should STFU.

They should instead, like Jeannie and the players, trust that Luke knows more about ball than most coaches in the league ten years his senior. Plus, the players say they love to play for him, Rondo actually said ‘I LOVE Luke’s coaching style’, when asked about his future dreams potentially as a coach after retirement.

His agent’s feefee hurts because he’s looking at the W-L column and counting the decline in endorsement offers while LBJ is injured. Weak sauce.

I think LBJ’s camp have done these pre-emptive save face stunts before; to the same disgusted reaction. They might worry that if he misses the playoffs and no big name wants to join him here.

If so, LBJ is clearly not ready to take any blame. Some leadership.

I wonder about Bwyan Hindwürst’s credibility, too. If it’s from LBJ’s camp; **** off! Say it to Luke’s face like a man, in private.

The Lakers camp would prefer if the LeBron camp didn’t operate with an agenda outside of the Lakers’ agenda. Buy in or get out.

This is LA. Even stars have to work their asses off to earn their keep around here. Ask West, KAJ, Magic, Shaq, Kobe. Or Morgan Freeman. Neither complained too much their first year here.

Seriously we heard that if it was the playoffs LeBron would be playing a week ago. Can't help to think Kobe for sure would of been playing a while ago... atleast when we fell out of the 8th seed... LEBRON taking his sweet time can't help to think with the timing of this report that's his doing it to make Luke look even worse and make it easier to replace him.

Luke Walton is over rated by laker fans. He had a good 30 game run with the warriors but has basically done nothing for us

There just isn't anything to like about LeBron and any coach he's played for outside of maybe Coach K, so... why ever listen or care what he thinks about a coach?
