For what it's worth...

If we move Zo and then fire Luke for Kidd, I'd be so pissed.

Yeah, I'm tired of LeBron. Lakers need to make it clear no one player is bigger than this organization.

This is ridiculous.
Bucher does pull stuff out of his behind most of the time, but this one is really stupid.

This isn't LeBron's idea, he already publicly stated he likes Luke. Magic has had it out for Luke basically since he took over since Luke was hired by the Jimmy "knows nothing" Buss era.

With that said, Luke isn't the right man for the job IMHO, his system has too much 3pt chucking without the right personnel. He needs to adapt his system to fit the players and right now they have no shooters. They are one of the worse team in every single shot %.

They need a coach with a better understanding of how to get the most out of the players on the team (Pop, Phil, Doc, etc). I would suggest looking at Mark Jackson or the Van Gundy brothers or even one of Pop's assistants before looking at Kidd.

Kidd might be good as an assistant if they end up keeping Ball so that he can work with him as their games are pretty similar.

Either that or fill the roster appropriately with the type of players that would work in Luke's GS copycat system with small ball and chucking contested 3pters. The ones they have now absolutely do not fit and you can tell even more so without LeBron there to bail them out and win games for them.

I don’t even understand how Magic would entertain this as a good idea. Jason Kidd was awful during his tenure as the Bucks head coach. What possible justification could he have for this hire?

How about the fact that Luke isn't his guy? Luke's only real supporter in the organization is Jeanie. And though I have fully supported Magic's decisions since he's taken over, he's the same guy who publicly touted for Byron Scott.

Even if LeGM wasn't on the roster, Luke's coaching job would still be shaky.

Luke not being his guy doesn’t justify hiring a coach with as awful a resume as Kidd. People love criticizing the job Luke has done, but Magic has been way more shaky.

If this happens, Jeanie needs to do what should have been done long ago- make Ryan west gm. He’s the only guy that has consistently exceeded expectations within the org
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Kidd is a terrible coach. He won't coach the Lakers.

Remember the Middleton free throw? I do. He has no idea what he's doing coaching a team and isn't regarded a good people manager by any stretch.

Just hire Kidd to coach ball. Not the whole team.

Well Ric just confirmed Kidd will never coach us. Guy knows nothing. “wouldn’t be surprised” does not tell us anything nor imply sources. Just not on the list of things that would surprise Ric Bucher

When in doubt, blame LeBron. Seems rational.

Well... He's got a pretty long rep as a prima donna in his relationships with Coaches/Front Offices...

That said, we should have known that going in and laid some ground rules... So yeah.. Not all LeBron's fault.

I tell you what though, if we do miss out on AD given how the table was set for us, and if LeBron expresses displeasure (which would seem almost inevitable), I'm 100% in the Trade LeBron boat... And I'm building the Fire Magic and Pelinka/Clean House boat too...

I love Magic's personality and all... But he's pretty much made himself the poster child for Tampering and has clearly salted the well for the Lakers with regard to trades... Not putting a Muzzle on LeBron's camp doesn't help either.
Getting LeBron was a huge win, no question... But an argument can certainly be made that he's managed almost everything else pretty badly...

Trading Russel for a pick, letting Randle walk for nothing, the repeat offender Tampering fines, the weird fixation on Body Fat Percentages over say, Shooting Percentages in the off season, not even getting in the room with Paul George, or Kawhi, publicly and inexplicably bashing Luke 10 games into the season... Don't even get me started on the reason for this thread...
LeBron aside... It's been kind of a clown show in retrospect.
