Should We Trade Lebron Or Would You Trade Him? VOTE

Post#1 » by SlimShady83 » Wed Feb 6, 2019 9:50 pm

I’ve been a Laker fan ever since I seen Kobe play in high-school (on the net) and thought yep I’ll follow what ever team he goes too – b4 that I was a player follower.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Lakers in a bigger mess then the way they are right now.
I’m sure there have always been a few things going on at once, between 1 or 2 players, but I don’t recall seeing the whole team just going downhill so fast.

Now you all can blame Magic Johnson and say it’s his fault for getting Lebron, Lebum, Legroin lol but it was Magic’s job to get stars and he went out and got Lebum (my fav) and IMO has done ok.
This team was starting to gel right b4 the Injuries so I guess you can blame the Injuries and then It’s partly OR mostly Lebron’s fault and probably the cause of all this.

He doesn’t seem to be saying the right things

He has stated he came here to play with the young core and likes them.

Then come the trade demands AND DON’T TELL ME THAT LEBUM HASN’T HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Has tried to come out after the Injury let’s come together as a team and make a playoff push – Yeh right Lebron good luck with that

Just recently have tried giving out advise to the young core about Trades and dealing with media – I mean yes, he can give advice about media, but not about Trades and how to deal with them – GTFOH

I’m sure he has said other things, but haven’t seen them all

Only Me and a few selected people on here never wanted him on this team, but it seems to be a few of you are starting to change your minds about him.

I like the old saying

“If you build It, they will come” and in saying that we need to build around the core – sure we’re going to fail for a year or 2 but when we start winning we’ll have those stars wanting to come to LA
Now this is gonna sound crazy

But I think we should build the team around Lonzo – OR at the very least around the young core of Lonzo/Kuz/BI/Hart/Zubac

If we can’t get this trade going for AD then what are the chances of getting top FA’s to want to come play for LA while all this mess is happening.

I don’t think Lebron is gonna want to continue to play with Lakers if we can’t get that 2nd star through Trade or FA – he won’t be able to handle it. He will probably retire, demand trade OR stay on injured list etc

Someone in a recent thread has mentioned Philly could/would be interested in Simmons to help Lebron team with Imbiid/Butler

Maybe trade him to Laclippers and see what we can get there? So Lebron stays in La and is Happy -I think he might have no trade clause on his contract?

And I’m sure there are other teams who would trade for Lebron…

Also, another point I want to make is, I like Luke Walton and feel he is a good guy and only other guy I would be interested in getting is Mark Jackson – But if we can’t get him, then stay with Luke …

I doubt very much Magic and co will trade him, but figured I’d throw some other ideas out there rather then just trading or dismantling the team just to please Lebron <> to me that’s just sad having to get rid of everyone just to keep 1 guy happy.

So, would you trade Lebron

Let’s be serious the Lakers are a lottery team without him. When he was healthy the Lakers were the 4th seed. All this cancer and poisoning the team stuf is bs. You don’t trade Lebron ever

For who and what's the outcome of it? If we can better the team but that would be almost impossible from a talent on the floor aspect IMHO. He offers the skill set of an all time great even at his advanced age. He's got real championship experience. The younger faux superstars don't have this and it takes time.... so this negates the "young" thing for me. Finally, other than the emotional snap to trade him what could you expect in return that would put the team in a better position. Finally, from a marketing standpoint, could ownership make more money by trading him. Remember that the NBA is first and foremost a business.

We're not the Los Angeles Lebrons. He signed with us and is our asset now, if there's a deal out there that makes us better and we unload his declining production at age 35 thru 37 it's a no brainer.

Say we talk to Kawhi and he'll sign with us if we can get Anthony Davis to compliment him and the young core... Then you ship LeSnake out. It's a business, they're all professionals. LeSnake said it himself.

People quickly forget how irrelevant we were before Lebron joined. I have a hard time believing any of these star players would be interested in us if Lebron weren't on our roster. Let's not be ungrateful! Lebron is a package. You simply cant only accept the good and exclude the bad.

You can’t trade lebron... he has to many friends and minions in the league. People would view us as stabbing him in the back after he chose to come here and we would have an impossible time attracting future fas
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

The Lakers went three straight years without winning a playoff series at Kobe's PEAK. He publicly demanded a trade. He had a sexual assault allegation. He talked crap about teammates. And yet Lakers fans are ready to get rid of LeBron after half a season because he wants to trade mediocre role players for a top 5 superstar? Smh. There's three different "trade LeBron" threads on here. It's embarrassing.

So what's Kobe something to do with this? Kobe won 5 chips for the Lakers. LeBron has 0. Kobe will play through injuries and try to win games with his team. LeBron will sit games and try to trade away his teammates. LeBron wants a top 5 superstar? All Kobe needed was Pau.

Look. Lebron is basically the best player in the nba, he came to the lakers, and he is here for a few year and it’s the teams job to surround him with what he needs to win. Because he has won a couple times already. It’s not Unknown territory.

There are not many players you even consider trading him for. If it were even feasible to do so, and it isn’t to trade lebron at the moment.

But, if I made a list. It would be

1. Luka
2. Zion

And that’s honestly dammed near it.
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Lol i would trade Lebron for Giannis or Kawhi in a heart beat. Lebron is 34, it would be idiotic not to have one of those two players instead.

And I think Raptors or Bucks would not even do this trade. We might even add picks to make this happen.

Thing to remember, if you're thinking your getting equal value for LeBron, you're probably deluding yourself... That's what makes the AD thing with the Pelicans so asinine...
If it became clear we wanted to trade LeBron, we'd be extremely lucky to get a player like KL in return... Especially because LeBron and Klutch would throw an absolute public fit...

So even if we wanted to trade LeBron, it's probably not possible, and even if it were possible, it would probably suck for us real hard...

I think Raps would. Their fans complain about lack of nationally televised games. This would definitely help :D

I learn a lot from reading Lakers board in or outside realgm. You guys probably have the most experienced in the biggest swings in winning and losing in the last 20 seasons.

I'm also one of the few guys at our board who thinks LBJ did the right thing to choose LA.

LeBron situation reminds me of Bynum or Artest's Knee. Do you sit him for the finals or you risk his health for long term?

When you add LeBron, your team instantly becomes a contender but you have limited shelf life. That young core you have, honestly is not that special. And you need to think of them as Bynum or Artest's knee. You need to sacrifice it to follow thru with your masterplan
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I know we might not get equal value but I will at least try to compensate it with age and cap space. A younger star with a lesser salary would be fine by me. Then try to snag 2 star FA in the free agency with all the cap space. But I have KL on top of my list if I'm trading LeBron.
