Underwhelming. I'd have called Bullock, ariza and Ellington a grand success.

meh. and then ugh.
now relieved. we kept the roster mostly intact at least. nothing too drastic.
hope they can now refocus with the trade deadline out of the way.
we better get someone good off waiver to redeem the Zubac trade.

We are the losers of the trade deadline. Third top10 player asking out we miss on, after PG and Kawhi. We are not getting him in the offseason nor in 2020.
So now what? Just hope for a great run to finish the season and try to grab the 7th spot to fight the Nuggets.

we still have plan A. which is to sign a max dude in FA. we didnt lose anybody of significance either if we ever decide to revisit a trade for AD.

Muscala trade seems dumb but ultimately pretty pointless. More down on how we got owned by NO with the way our negotiations were laid out with detail to the media for a trade that was never going to happen. 3rd star in the last year and a half to request a trade to prefer us as a landing spot and 3rd time with nothing. I’m glad NO saved us from ourselves ultimately, but don’t really have much faith in the operations of this FO

surprised they didn't look to bring in defensive guard help. how many stiff wings do we need, when they are plentiful on the buyout market?

Ultimately it shows you what the outside world thinks of our young guys.

Yeah zu was one of our bright spots I’m honestly not sure how we go on a run with these injuries. I can’t see us making the playoffs

My reaction is confusion in regards to fans who loved the idea of Magic taking over with his promise to deliver free agents, public acknowledgment of the need to conserve cap space, and over the top confidence about it....now those same fans are surprised when Lakers aren’t able to make bigger trades due to need to conserve cap and turn around and blame LeBron cause Magic’s actiond display a sole focus of delivering on his promise bring superstars.

Basically everybody except Lakers fans think Ingram/Kuzma/Ball suck. They dont suck like the outside world thinks, and they're not as good as some Lakers fans think. Truth is, they're somewhere in the middle.
But I'll tell you this much- Jayson Tatum is the most overrated player in the NBA. And I honestly dont think its even close.

I hate to see Zubac go. Honestly, he was a bright spot. But a bit slow on the defensive end, and not good enough on offense to make up for it.
But the reality is his rights would have been renounced in the summertime to get max cap space + players that fit the system.
The trade itself, from a roster point of view, makes sense. They clear some money and a spot for a shooter. Whomever that might be, there's a role to be played.
Muscala is worse than Zubac, no doubt about it. But put him on the Lakers roster (not as a direct replacement, however) and the team might perform better with him because of spacing. Beasley was pouting, lately, and was taking minutes away from Wagner (he can space the floor as well).
And the Lakers might be better equipped to go small more ofter, so some PF minutes will go to SF, and SF minutes to SG.
I would have prefered a KCP + Stephenson + Bonga + FRP to Orlando for Vucevic, but that's life.
I'll live with the results.

Disappointed....to say it mildly. Magic tried to trade the whole team for AD....losing Zu .... team chemistry down rock bottom. Not good week ....

Very happy. Didn’t sell low on Kuzma, Ball, and Ingram. Added some shooters. Would still like Ellington and either Kanter/DAJ. Preferably DAJ. These are going to turn out to be the type of low key improvements that bolster our playoff run.

We can only sign superstar players if we wish to have them on our team. This is not a Magic nor Pelinka issue, this is a Laker issue.
To use a cliche: the hate is real.

I think Pelinka was uncharacteristically naive letting the Pelicans control the narrative and destabilising this team. When we hired him, these are the kind of dark arts I expected him to excel at. If we hadn't thrown our hats so enthusiastically in the ring and letting them play us like that, I wouldn't have any problems not getting AD.
Before the rumours, this team had grit and fought for each other, now I doubt we ever get it back even when fully healthy.

I am relieved. Content with Bullock acquisition not so much with Muscala.
I’d give our FO a “D” for this trade deadline

a tad more room (about 1M) due to Zubac being gone, assuming they extended the QO. Svi's contract was not guaranteed. So really, no change unless you projected the Lakers to extend the QO to Zu, which they must have decided against by trading him.
