Road to 7th spot

Lakers can only lose 7 games maximum to make it to the 7th spot and avoid a first-round exit.
I think winning a playoff series would be huge for the young guys on the team.
How likely is this to occur though?

Not sure how you did your math, but I'll play along anyway....Absolute best case scenario I think we lose 10-12 games. Schedule isn't all that daunting but Lakers have a tendency to play down to their competition. We'll barely muscle out the Spurs/Kings for the 7 seed and take down the Nuggets in the first round. It's just meant to happen.

How did you come up with just 7? If they only lose 7 they'll be fighting for 5-6 seed

The next five games can be Ws. If we win in Philly, we will be unstoppable.

Need to get that 7th seed but it's not going to be easy. Spurs need to get out the way.
Those CLE and NYK loses are going to be painful games we may look back on.

Came up with 7 by looking at Spurs and Jazz schedule. Spurs look like they lose 35 and Jazz look like they lose 34 in total. Problem is Spurs win the tie break. So Lakers have a buffer of 7.
Unfortunately their schedules look a little easier than the Lakers

These are the better teams, 5 of them at home though.
Can pray Utah or Spurs fall off somehow

We need to win 5 more games than Spurs. They are on pace to win 46 games. We can lose 8-9 games to be 7th seed. And we have to win one more game than the Kings do the rest of the RS.

I don't know why the Spurs are so eager to make the playoffs, they are automatic first round exit...

We are only 3 games back of the 6th seed. I think we can get there.

We can't afford to drop any of the above bolded games. Winning those puts us at 43 wins. If we can manage to steal an extra couple home wins on top of that, we should have the 6th or 7th seed.

You should have included that Houston game too. No way can these **** sweep the season series.

Yeah... I'm sorta getting Kobe / Dwight / Nash sort of season vibes. I expect 45-37 and a 1st round series against Golden State. I just don't see the Lakers doing better than 17-10 or 16-11 or so.

Game by game. We need a win badly in Philly.

On the bright, this team healthy would have been at 3rd or 4th seed
