I think the lakers are in a good position; heres why

Post#1 » by DS17 » Fri Feb 15, 2019 12:01 am

First of all... i am DEVASTATED we traded Zubac.

Okay, now that we got that out the way, we are in a good position because:

1) if the LBJ experiment goes wrong.. trade him for ALOT. Like come on guys, the package we'd get for him? It would speed up our rebuilding process like no tomorrow.

2) If we reach the play offs this yr i can see us going to the second round, making the rookies more experienced in the play offs. LOOK, NOP messed up, we aint giving them the barn this summer lol.

3) we will get another all star this summer. no questions asked. So if we dont get two, we will atleast get one :)

What do yall think?

1) Magic will be the most hated man in the NBA if he trades James. He'll look as if he betrayed James. Though I don't think too many Laker fans would be upset if there was a good deal on the table.

2) Not going to make the second round if we get Warriors in the first.

3). I don't know if we'll get a second star, but with James and Magic recruiting, I think the odds are good.

I think the Lakeshow will make a run after the All Star Break if Luke stops screwing with the lineup... Start Rondo than bring in shooters...

I am also cool with one free agent & keeping the young guns over 3 max guys so we keep our youth and depth... Luke is killing me...

Lakeshow Baby...

I am sure LBJ has a no-trade clause in his contract

Now someone correct me if I'm wrong, but James could have signed with a no trade clause, but chose not to?

Taps fingers while stroking white cat, gazing through the monocle...

Wow. I was so sure he’d have one I didn’t even check.

Fact remains, Magic won’t do it. He won’t backstab James. But he did backstab the future Laker stars like Lonzo, the best defensive PG and a premier playmaker in the NBA; Kuzma, a beast of an offensive talent with better stats than Tatum; and Ingram, one of the best wing defenders in the league going forward, with better offensive stats than Tatum; and Zubac, the best under 23 C in the NBA. And he would do it again. Magic is a star-effer, sad to say.

The Lakers is not his main objective. His and LBJ’s legend vanity ego trip is. I loved Magic as a player as much as the next one. I can’t stand watching him soil his stature like this off the court, again.

I bet you Magic promised that he would not be traded no matter what, if he just inked the papers. ā€˜I’ll go after any player you want, make any trades you want’.

Jeannie, fire Magic at the next meddling accusation. Hire Ryan West. Tell him to trade James.

To the OP, what in James’ and Magic’s recent GM history suggest that the ā€œodds are goodā€. They, along with Kluntz Agency, completely whiffed on AD. Shat themselves, in fact; all over.
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

I agree Magic most likely would not trade James. Now I don't know if James decided to sign without a no trade clause because he trusted Magic, or if there was something in the CBA that prevented him from signing one, but regardless, only way out of the Lakers is if James requests a trade. But part of me hopes Magic takes a page from Ainge and betrays James.

Yeah, but he won’t be able to justify trading him because of the BS dinner, because he was in bed with Kluntz on that.

Magic won’t trade LBJ, period. That’s my best guess.

Fire Magic, then we can trade him to Minnesota or if he’s nice, Washington where he can move into politics.

Trading LeBron probably has more cons than pros. It would be a devastating look for ownership, the front office and so on. These type of things matter, as can be seen by the Knicks/Dolan or, more recently, the Celtics and their disposal of Isaiah. The Lakers would also be on the wrong foot with Rich Paul/Klutch, which could potentially be a no-no in future free agency. He has a big pool of names and it's likely it will only grow more and more.

I think so too, but there's a big difference between just an All-Star and a superstar. Unless the Pelicans smarten up and accept that deal for Davis, I just don't see us landing that big name this year. My money would be more on a Kemba Walker (who I don't want!), than on a Kawhi or Durant. Looking at things right now, I'd say the Lakers aren't even the best destination in Staples.

LeBron has to recruit hard this weekend.

If we get meetings with the FAs stars in the summer, i think very few players can“t say no to LeBron, Magic and L.A

Trading Lebron would be the greatest mistake in the history of the Lakers franchise. I dont care what haul you get in return. Lebron isn't done. He's a top 3 player of all time who still has a championship or 2 left in his tank. You dont trade him. You do your best to build around him and make a push. Its why I was ok with trading the farm for AD.

The trade Bron stuff is odd. Sure he tried to arrange a trade for Davis behind the scenes but does anyone truly thing he was picking the players to be traded? NO was the one driving the asking price. He's smart enough to know that he and Davis with no assets is no closer to a championship than he is now. NO wasn't going to trade him here... period. Bron's camp pushing for the deal becoming public is what became the issue.... not trying to trade to better the team.

LBJ is averaging 28, 9 & 8 guys... I know he is older but dude is still balling... I have a feeling we got a shot at Irving...

We need to get back to early season form relatively quickly, get to the 7th seed, win a round. Salvage a successful season.

Sign a 2nd max worthy FA in offseason and Plan A is still cruising along
