Per Woj:
“Ultimately it’s Jeanie Buss, the owner, but Rob Pelinka, the general manager is running basketball operations. The candidates in this search have been told ‘Rob Pelinka will be your boss, he’s going to be running the team, we’re not bringing in somebody over him,’ and he’ll make his recommendation to Jeanie Buss about head coach.”

I honestly have no clue what to feel here. I guess “go rob?” Looks like it’s our only choice but why not just officially or publicly do it already instead of letting us play pretend with the hope of some kind of enouraging FO hire. I mean if kawhi is coming, do whatever you want. If he isn’t tho, can we blow **** up?

I get he put this out for ratings for his show. But kind of dumb too do if you are truly trying to recruit players to come here. Could have waited until after free agency.

He and Zo talked about how shocked they were that Magic stepped down and the way he did it, you think that’s a topic free agents don’t already know about?

When you hire clowns, don't be surprised when they deliver you a circus.

Jeanie and pelinka thought magic was going to sit in his office and do some paper work. Lol. They shouldve understood his role and contribution as an exec. Face of franchuse. Sell.
Sit in the living room and recruit. Yes, magic Fd up. Yes he quit on team. But that has to be sprinkled with the knowledge of what he is.

Do we trust Rob Pelinka's basketball and scouting knowledge if he really is the GM going forward??

Safe to extrapolate that the Rambis' are the ones 'Imploring' Jeanie to trade LeBron?

Wonder if Kurt wants to be the Coach, but knows that can never happen as long as LeBron and his boys are in residence, so he's working Jeanie to dump his ass...

Last time we were in this much of a mess with Kobe demanding to be traded we ended up with Pau Gasol. Let’s see what happens. Jerry was looked at as a joke at that time. Let’s hope Jeanie can do something right

No Lue, no Magic, no Williams, no contact with people still in playoffs for POB, what exactly have missed out on? Oram is the only one throwing a fit because he is trying to get banned so he can cover the Blazers and live in Oregon.

I ain't worried bout nuthin.

So happy someone feels the same way. Thank you Ty. But I would say a statement would be nice from FO.

The problem with this point of view is that you’re totally ignoring the process by which the team finds themselves in this situation. If the process is off, any success you have is just going to be based on luck.

Im happy Magic is gone, but he’s not gone cause Jeanie decided he wasn’t right for the job, he’s gone cause he inexplicably re-signed without warning anyone.

I didn’t know whether Lue was right for the job or not, but the Lakers sure did and offered the job, only reason he’s not the coach is cause they cheaped out. It’s not cause they have a brain trust that didn’t think he should be hired.

In hindsight it’s the same criticism that was valid against Jim/Mitch. They didn’t save their cap space summer after summer cause they were smart with who to offer a contract to, it’s cause no one they offered it to would accept. We saw how that process eventually led to disaster with Mozgov and Deng.
