It looks like this might have been set up back in March

Going off reports that Zo was a couple weeks away from being cleared to play back in early April, my guess he’s the one that hired this shooting coach.

Yeah. James was looking like he had the starting stages of the Barkley Yips syndrome at the line. I hope it’s Lonzo.

I hope it's Kuz. His prospect as a solid player is in the toilet unless he can regain his 3 point shooting.

I'd throw the whole team in there with this shooting coach.

I had a feeling it was Kuz. He seems to have the right attitude about improving. He improved everything this year except his deep jumper. He also played through some lower body injuries (hip and ankle/foot) which can take it's toll on jumpers.

Maybe Lonzo can join him and keep his FT % above Kuz's 3 point %

Wtf. All these dudes need to be launching at least 500 jumpers a day.

Launching 500 a day sounds good in theory, but you gotta be realistic, how many of these guys gonna shoot 500 jumpshots?

Maybe around 5 in a row then go run sprints, then make a couple free throws, more jump shots, then more sprints etc

I'd be more impressed if this happened.

I mean Lonzo can make 500 FT's in practice but how often you gonna shoot that many? gotta start being realistic, this is 2019 not 1969 LOl on that 69

With Pelinka making it a big thing about hiring a strong coaching staff and concentrating on spacing around LeBron, I hope they finally get a shooting coach.

"Kobe said, he went to the gym over the summer and made 100,000 shots."
True, i get your point, my emphasis was not necessarily numbers. But the sheer focus in improving ones game as a professional, like Kobe did in his younger years.

I coached AAU for 18 years in the DC area and in the "offseason" I worked with some of the kids shooting and we did some simple drills that had them putting up 200-300 shots in a couple hours. The "new game"-"old game" crap is just that.... crap. If you want to get better shooting you shoot with purpose and repeat the motion with purpose. It's simple in theory but hard to do when you try and do it for 2 straight hours..... that's why you do it for 2 straight hours. You teach shooting in your head before you catch the ball and then repeat that back to yourself when you do catch the ball. It works and has for a long time.

Kuzma has exactly the right type of attitude you'd want from your young players.

Kuzma chamged his shooting form 6 times last season. That’s why he went from 36% to 30%.

Hope he gets to 40%.

His biggest issue shooting from distance last year was his gather/foundation/lower body. He did have nagging lower body injuries (hip/ankle/foot) for a good part of the season as well.

I've posted the math of this before but the difference between 35% and 40% when you shoot 5-6 3's a game is about .3 more made 3 pointers a game over a full season or about 24 more total made shots. The percentage points when you shoot fewer shots don't translate as much as they do in overall FG%. Sure we all want him to be at 40% but that's pretty rare for a starter. The off the bench specialists who shoot more 3's than 2's are the guys who you must have at close to 40% because they are typically only on the roster to do that.

More than shooting 40% I'd like to see a consistent 35-38% from him instead of the streaks of 45% followed by the ones of 20%.

All of that said..... It won't make much of a difference for us as I'm pretty sure he's going to be the first one out if we make a big trade or especially so if we strike out in FA and we're desperate to make a move.
