That's the right salary match. Pelicans can involve a 3rd team like Phoenix or Chicago to get that 6-7 pick if they don't like Lonzo.

If we do that, can we afford Kyrie too?

Yes as the above poster described, you can sign a tier 2 max FA like Kyrie or Kawhi.

Of course they would by why would we? We need to either trade the pick for AD or select the BPA.

I don’t think ATL would

Picks 4-14 are all kinda bunched up
No clear order yet. Maybe someone breaks out in workouts and becomes the clear #4

But hawks could grab reddish and bol bol at 8/10.

That would be a coup
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

All things number 4. Trade or draft? Let the rumors begin

The more I read about Barrett the more I think maybe if ad falls apart we go hard after Barrett. RJ could be the superstar from this draft and obviously can score. My question to you all is do you think Barrett will be better than Ingram, kuz or ball? If so why not send one of them and 4 for 3? Barrett could be a second option to Lebron and also take over the team down the road. Now I admit I only watched a handful of duke games but his records and status seems quite appealing

Ugh im not that high on Barrett. 53TS% in college. Thats pretty bad. Looks more like a volume scorer.
He's pretty much a high usage Wiggins with a little better vision.

Imagine how badass of a position we'd be in without LeBron. I hope we just sign a max FA, use the #4 pick, and add an MLE player. Depth is a real asset...

This is exactly what I’m thinking too.
I was so happy when we got LBJ last year.
But watching him play last year and the whole environment with him around, and knowing that without him we’d be favorites to get two top max free agents, has me thinking “what if” too.

Lonzo + Ingram + #4 OR Kuzma +#4 <---------Either deal works for me, and either deal I'd throw next years pick, or something like that to make it work.

I'm not sure they get much better. If Kyrie is bailing....suddenly Celtics are a tad hesitant to throw all this youth for a potential (likely) 1-year rental. This #4 pick was huge. It helps us sweeten a deal.

Feel like we'll get Kyrie then. Get a couple shooters, and couple good vets (Ariza, Brewer, Milsap type guys) and let's do it.

If Clippers let Zubac go...let's grab him back.

The only way to trade for AD according to trade rules is to trade Lonzo, Ingram AND #4 after he is signed and 30 days has passed. You could keep one of Lonzo and Ingram, but you would have to trade everyone else (Mo, Kuz, Hart, Jones) in their place which would cause roster issues for the acquiring team (Jones is unguaranteed, but it would still be a 5 for 1 deal). Given the blood clot issue, maybe the team would prefer the 5 for 1, but either way there is still a month wait after the #4 pick is signed.

Zubac is a restricted FA, so assuming that the Clippers submit a qualifying offer, they can match any offer from another team, and the Lakers would have no money to sign him that wouldn't be instantly matched. This is why many on this board were so pissed after that terrible trade because Zubac had a really low cap number.

Don't trade the pick but draft #4 who was a gift.

Keep the gift and get another Superstar.

Why is only drafting the pick considered a gift? If we could get say..... 2 top stars and part with the pick we're a much better team. A top 5 draft pick is by no means a sure thing. Russell was only the 5th top 5 pick since 2000 to make an all star team and only 2 of the others have made multiple ones.

Maybe I’m reading wrong. Russelll was #2 and there’s been tons of top 5 picks making all star teams since 2000.

OK. Let's look at picks 2-4 in the last 10 drafts. ( I didn't write that as I intended, I was trying to make a point about depth in drafts).
2009: Harden
2010: None
2011: None
2012: Beal
2013: None
2014: Embiid
2015: Russell, Portzingis
2016: None
2017: None
2018: None

Number 2 picks overall (since Russell was a number 2) Durant and Aldridge are the only multi year all stars t number 2 in 18 years!
2000: No
2001: Chandler
2002: No
2003: No
2004: No
2005: No
2006: Aldridge
2007: Durant (number 1 didn't however)
2008: No
2009: No
2010: No
2011: No
2012: No
2013: Oladipo
2014: No
2015: Russell
2016: No
2017: No
2018: No

So.... I'd say the idea that having the 4th pick (or even the second for that matter) is no guarantee of an impact player.

I'd say if you could trade for one.... one that actually matches your needs then it would be foolish not to.

the best leverage of NO in AD trade is Lakers as a bidder , so NO can push for better offers from those east teams. Lakers should play the chess game. Stay out of it. Let AD market dry out.

Draft D.Garland at 4th...
trade Lonzo to PHX for 6th pick and select C.Reddish...
add couple of shooters... that's what LAL needs...

I would offer the Trade like this?

1st Lonzo, Hart & Ingram and a 2020 1st rounder than
2nd Lonzo, Hart & Kuzma and a 2020 1st rounder

If the #4 is a must in the deal then No Kuzma

3rd Lonzo, Hart & Ingram and the #4 if this is how it has to go.

In last years draft, hell yeah. This year's, not a chance in hell. The quality is fluid from 4 to 20 in this class. Its hard to find trade back partners.

This is a historically weak draft. There’s only one player with superstar potential. ATL would jump at the chance to get a sure starter like Deandre Hunter. It quantity doesn’t beat quality. Reddish and Bol at this moment don’t project to more than fringe starters. Either way we need to make some trades, even if it’s not for Davis and the 4th pick should absolutely be on the table.

RJ Barrett sucks. Low IQ chucker. He chucked with Zion on his team...

I'm not 100% sure the Knicks take him.

I don’t know about the first part but agree that I’m not sure he’s a top 3 pick
