what would jack bauer do? wrote:Garland might have the best career out of the draft class. I see the mastery of skills only guys like Curry/Harden/McCollum display in the league.
He's the perfect modern guard and a perfect fit next to Lonzo. I wish we could keep him, but a trade seems inevitable.
So much THIS!!! I just spent the last hour catching up on Garland. Apparently he only played in 5 games this year before an injury to his knee (meniscus) ended his season early. In 5 games he Put up 16.2ppg 3.2 and 2.8 and shot 47.8% from 3... He also scored 33 pts against Liberty right before his injury.
He was ranked the #1 PG out of his HS class coming into college. Even just the small sample size of reviewing his college highlights anyone can tell this kid is special. Hes a quick twitch, elite handles PG that can shoot and attack the rim at will. He can dominate in P&R and creates wrinkles in open space due to his tight handle. I was awe struck when I saw his clips. He has the chance to be the steal of the draft. This kid is special. A Lonzo/Garland backcourt looks like it could work as Zo compliments his game well. Unless we have a superstar deal on the line - I say we keep him. I'd actually rather have Garland over Zo.
