Ball for no.7 pick (Bulls)?

First off, I want to say I'm a Bulls fan.
Though this is just a rumour, there are talks that the Bulls are taking a close look at Lonzo, now whether it would be via trade of players, or the draft pick (no.7), I don't know, however, when you consider the players that we have, I don't see the Bulls giving up either Lauri, WCJ or LaVine for Lonzo, nor do I see them trading Porter. The most logical trade scenario would involve the no.7 pick that the Bulls have, plus fillers.
Personally, I think it's a good deal, as he would be an upgrade from Dunn, and though he still has issues from an offensive scoring perspective, he is young and talented enough where I believe he would be worth the gamble. Also, we have two key young prospects who are big men, who deserves an intelligent playmaker like Lonzo.
As Lakers fans, how do you all view this deal?

I have heard this proposal from others, and I don't understand why anyone thinks the Lakers would trade Zo for the 7th pick in an underwhelming draft like this, so I would hate this deal should it materialize.

Do you see Lonzo as the long term solution for the Lakers, especially with LeBron the next 3 seasons? If the answer is no, then what would have more value for other teams, in order for the Lakers to obtain assets or players who fit better with LeBron, Lonzo himself, or the no.7 draft pick?

How about Zach LaVine and the 7th for Bonga and KCP?
Stop insulting our intelligence.

Realistically, what do you think you can get out of Ball? Considering what you received back for Russell.

Russell was traded along with Mozgov as part of a salary clearing strategy, which ultimately won us Lebron in free agency the following summer.
There are no bad contracts on the books now, so don't expect another giveaway.

Don't really see this happening unless it's expanded a bit further, perhaps part of an Anthony Davis deal. If Lonzo Ball really doesn't want to be in New Orleans, and the Pelicans are turned off they could expand it to a 3-team deal with either Phoenix or Chicago where their pick plus whatever assets they're willing to pony up going to New Orleans.

I agree, that would be the most realistic scenario unless the Lakers really like someone at no.7.

I wouldn't even say that the Lakers "gave away" D'Angelo Russell. They got a good starting-caliber C and a late FRP for one of the 3 worst contract and a guy coming off a mixed season.

I might say yes if this is included in a trade for AD.
BI, Kuz, 4th, 7th and a future 1st for AD.
If that gets it done then deal. If not, then no.

There was no reason to insist on Jason Kidd being an assistant if we were going to trade Lonzo... His only useful purpose would be to mentor Ball...
So I don't think it's even in the realm of possibility.

With the depth of this draft, I think at 7 in this draft you’re just hoping you can find someone who will simply be a starter one day.
Zo is already one of if not the best defensive PGs in the league, right in the middle of his rookie deal where he’s still cheap yet has the experience needed to contribute.
There is absolutely no way whatsoever the Lakers trade him for the 7th pick unless someone else is sending an overpayment to the Lakers while taking the 7th for themselves.

Ball will be mentored by J Kidd, so there is no use in entertaining the scenario. This trade will never happen...

If it really came to it, I'd much rather take an unprotected Chicago 2020 pick than the 7th pick in this draft. There's really no one beyond the top 2 that are enticing.

Looks like you guys already beat me to the punch. Was gonna say I can totally see it happening as part of a 3 way deal since N.O. might want the pick more than Lonzo.
Lakers get: AD
Bulls get: Lonzo
N.O. gets: #4, #7, ingrim or Kuzma ( I think N.O. may have missed the boat on getting both, unless of course the Knicks bring the Heat in trade talks)

Lonzo is the long-term solution unless he can return a superstar or another up and coming star. He is a very underrated player.
He is the best defensive PG in the league, if not now then next season.
He is top 5 rebounding PG in the league.
He has excellent passing abilities when given the chance to run an offense.
Main drawback is his offense but Lakers hired Kidd to teach him how to overcome that and to help him run the offense.
So I doubt another team will value him as highly as the Lakers but if there was it'd probably be Bulls or Suns.
Potential ways Bulls get him:
Bulls get Lonzo in the AD trade through whatever pelicans want for him.
OR
Bulls get Lonzo, Kuzma and pick 4
Lakers get Lauri, Carter Jr and pick 7.

If the bulls do that, what will they be left with?
I think the more sensible trade would be... Lonzo and ingram for number 7, #38 (Luka saminick) and wc Jr.
We need to keep kuzma for cap space reasons. Losing lonzo and Ingram would give us more financial flexibility.
#7 for Beal
Beal/kwahi/kuz/LeBron/wc

This and only this.
