Re: Ranking Lakers Youth
Ingram, Lonzo, 4th, Kuzma,,,Hart,,Wagner, Carouso.
As for who I hope stays? If we get AD, I'd try to keep Lonzo at all costs. If we don't get him, and don't get either KD or Kawhi, I'd cling to Ingram too...
Lonzo is virtually untouchable for me, basically due to the Free Agent Pool out there... There's not really anyone out there that has the potential to be the impact player he can be at the 1.
I think Ingram is a better player, but you have Kawhi and KD potentially available who overlap what he does a whole lot... So you can be a little more comfortable trading him.
But if we don't trade for AD and can't land either Kawhi or KD, I'm clinging to Ingram and Ball for dear life... And maybe starting to seriously entertain the idea of trading LeBron...

Re: Ranking Lakers Youth
Okay great feedback, I have a few laker fans that I work with and they hate Lonzo. Nice to see that is not all Laker fans views.
I’m a big Lonzo believer and think he fits the best with potential superstar team. Elite size, defense and passing... jumper will get better.
He is mainly a Kuzma believer, but advanced stats seem to not think he is very good.

I think a lot of us like Ball and also the young core, but when you can get a top 5 player like AD then you pull the trigger

I would love for us to keep Ball and still get AD I mean I don't think NO want Ball and Ball doesn't want to be a part of NO (not that he has a choice) If ball getting traded it's going to be a 3rd team like; Knicks, Suns, Wizards, Bulls

Re: Ranking Lakers Youth
Kuzma
Bi
Zo
Hart
Kuzma has outplayed Lonzo every year they were in the league together. Kuzma has a better first and second year than BI did as a rookie and sophomore, in fact he’s just outright had better years since they have played together.
Kuzma is more readily available than either of those guys. Zo is injury prone. BI is coming off a red flag health concern, had worse numbers than Kuzma as a starter, and costs multiple times more.
It’s not even close that Kuzma is the best of them. Say age, potential, whatever you want to bs your way and call it. Fact is Kuzma has our produced those two more consistently.

Re: Ranking Lakers Youth
This forum generally under rates the potential of our youth, I think.
All of their ceilings are very high. In fact, keeping our about-to-break-out-youth could be the wisest move we can make this summer.
Their offense, sure. Defense is why. Their potential, in my view:
1) Lonzo:
Elite defense / all nba / perennial DPOY candidate going forward. His offensive talent on the side of vision and passing is generational level great. He’s about to blow up on the league. If healthy...
2) Brandon:
On defense, he’s already like a longer and smoother Kirilenko, could become like a mantis version of Pippen for Pete’s sake. Offensively, Brandon is/will become a unicorn. Extremely hard cover due to being extendo-man. He’s about to blow up on the league. If healthy...
3) Kuzma:
Offensive juggernaut, explosive scorer, big moment thriver, competitive alpha. Decent to good defender. Stretch four who can cut and proved to be a good passer too toward end of last season. He’s about to blow up on the league.
4) Caruso:
Keep this guy around. Severely under rated. He’s rock solid. Rarely makes any mental mistakes. Plays both ends hard and well. PG/SG/SF combo utility player who does nothing spectacular but everything well. Makes the open shot, can create for self and others. Can post up. Competitor. He will blow up on the league. His ceiling is almost reached.
5) 4th?
Who knows? Depends on whom we pick.
6) Wagner:
Practically a worthless low post defender for the first 60 games of his career. The rest of his game is looking very promising, especially his internal fire and his smooth stroke from three. Maybe the season after next he will be solid. Right now, too raw. High ceiling.

NBA titles since the merger: LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4.

I have a hard time calling Caruso our 'youth'... He looks like the proverbial Italian Uncle.

At the top of the list I’d say Kuzma then I’d probably say the kid that mops up sweat
