B) Max slot: Jimmy Butler

C) Max slot: Vucevic
MLE: Rondo/Darren Collison
Vet min: D Rose, Bullock/JR Smith/Matthews, Ellington/Ariza

D) Max Slot (split): 10M JJ Reddick, 12 Pat Beverly, 10 Lopez/Cousins
MLE: Danny Green.
vet min: DRose, Noel, Bullock.

Last example is my favorite, but probably most players will get much more than what I’m projecting, specially Danny Green.
This would look amazing, though

Beverly/Rose/Caruso
JJ Reddick/Danny Green/Reggie Bullock
James/Kuz
Davis/Kuz/Wagner
Cousins/Noel/Wagner

During the season there will be chances to get cheap vets after buyouts, like Blazers got Kanter. What’s Deandre Jordan’s situation, would he fit with AD?
Let’s see how many players are willing to take a paycut to take on a larger role and exposure in order to get a bigger contract in a year.

The estimates for the 2019/20 Mid-Level Exceptions are $9m for non-taxpayer or $5.6m for taxpayer teams. I'm unclear of the 2019/2020 taxpayer threshold, but for the past season it was $130m. So, if we're talking about the MLE, let's work off the assumption that it equates to roughly $9m. With that said it would not surprise me if players such as Dedmon or Green get offers well north of $9m annually.

Any chance we can pry Matt Thomas from Valencia for the league minimum? If my memory serves correct, we offered him a two way contract at the time and he turned it down. Dude was a sniper when he played on our summer league team. He shot 46% and 49% from threes during his two seasons overseas.

Some cool ideas, but like you said, I do think you're being conservative with your estimates.

First off, I'm pretty sure the Lakers don't get a full MLE ($9M-ish). I think they only get a Room Exception (about half of the MLE).

Ariza made $15M last year... I doubt he's signing for the vet min.
Redick made $13M last year and just set a career-high in PPG. I doubt he's gonna accept $10M.
Rose had a really nice bounce back here ... I think he's closer to mini-MLE/Room Exception than he is vet min.

I do think Redick/Beverley/Lopez/Green are all legitimate targets. Realistically though I think we have enough for 2 of those guys, not all 4.

I think for the vet min types we're looking at older, buy-low candidates with reasonable upside, not guys coming off of stellar years.

Also I don't think Bullock is a vet min player ... a couple years ago he signed for 2-years, $5M with the Pistons. At that point he had career averages of 3 PPG / 35% from three.

During the two years since signing that contract, he was a 11.3 PPG player on 40% from 3. I think he will get a decent contract, much higher than the vet min.

Almost a sure thing:

- Korver at vet min.

Targets:

- Beverley (10mil)
- Dedmon (7 million)

We need shooters and D. We get that with Beverley and he fills our need at point. The other shooter is Korver. He will sign for the min with us instead of retiring. These two will help tremendously.

At center, I think we can go Lopez, Marcus Morris but prefer Dedmon at $7 million. These 3 cover us at point, shooting wing and rebounding big.

Other targets point: Collison, Lance.
Other targets wing: Ariza, DGreen, Seth.
Other targets big: Jordan or McGee or Chandler.

I think we can spread the 32 million around nicely between 3 depths guys (Beverley, Dedmon and ??). Then add some min vet guys including Korver. Our 3rd stringers will be Caruso and Williams with others taking their 2ways.

We will be left with our room exception plus all the vet mins we can sign who can add value which might even include Melo and Rondo.
