Vince Carter deserves to go out a Laker

Post#1 » by stan francisco » Sun Jun 16, 2019 1:24 am

I’m thinking it might be better getting two or three solid vets instead of one star. We’ll have depth issues and grinding 40MPG for LBJ, AD, third star will lead to injuries.

Pelinka’s gamble could risk a player’s career if we don’t add depth.

I don’t know if Vince makes sense but I’d love to see Half Man Half Amazing join the Lakers for his last season. Thoughts?

No thanks. While I appreciate Air Canada's longevity and success in the league. I would rather use our remaining funds to ensure we have younger players that can contribute. We have way too many positions to fill to worry about sending an old star with a bang.

Good point. We need young legs and depth to our bench but is he completely shot in the knees or can he still contribute? I certainly didn’t follow his regular season games but I thought I saw some highlights last season where I was pretty well shocked to see what he can still do.

Vince still has some juice in him, but I would prefer to our funds more judiciously.

Well maybe he’ll come for free...

Vince said he was going to go back to the Raptors before his career was over.

Vince also said this is his last year. So he is a Raptor (a year too late, he should have been a part of the 2019 Raptors!)

I all for adding someone like Vincanity for the season. Why the hell not. He's still a solid roleplayer that can defend a bit and shoot 3s. I think we should take it further and bring in a handfull of quality veterans.

I'm not really sure, but if there is someone who deserves to go out a Laker then it's got to be Pau. The only Raptor that we need in this team right now is Kawhi.

The Lakers owe Vince nothing. As much as I respect the man, his longevity and his game, he's not going to give you much. Dude is turning 43 this year, was barely a net positive in ATL. Besides, he doesn't play defense and all he has going for him is mediocre shooting ability on 10 mpg.

Dallas was the last time Vince as a bench vet looked appealing.

May I suggest a revision. Retitle the thread, "Vice Carter deserves to go out". No need to add Lakers into the mix.

I can''t see why this makes sense from either side...
