How much love does this FO deserve?
Are you guys impressed with Pelinka and gang?

They made the widely criticized trade for AD then moved Wagner, Bonga and JJones to get max salary or near it. Now, NOT a guarantee, they have positioned themselves at Kawhi. As top FAs started signing, they did the opposite of Mitch/Jim trade and just sat and plotted.

Now so much bad contracts are given out and the Lakers will hold for that one true Max player. Even if we miss, they still have Bron and Brow to build around with minimum guys and few others.

They somehow kept Kuzma on his less than $2 million contract plus added shooter in Daniels. They also have Iggy and Korver lined up. They had DLO on hold but lost him to a max from dumb GSW.

I love all the moves and non-moves so far. After Kawhi’s decision, I am hopeful we will have a great bench/roster.

Got to love Pelinka and his stories.

Magic deserves big credit for getting Lebron here. Lebron deserves credit for recruitin AD and forcing his trade here.
The entire organization from Pelinka to Magic to Buss to Lebron to AD deserve credit for recruiting Kawhi ( if it happens).

If Kawhi comes, justified or unjustified (unjust IMO), the FO are a bunch of geniuses... He doesn't come, the FO are idiots for swinging for the fences, sitting on their cap and not building a team around AD and LeBron...

It's really that simple... They've taken a huge gamble, but it's a gamble they HAD to take... Their reputations are on the line.

Lets say there is a 50% chance of getting Kawhi vs 100% of getting Butler. Do you still think it was a wise gamble? Would a LeBron/AD/Butler been good enough to win the title anyway?

All this is a hypothetical. But I disagree that it was a gamble they had to take. I think, with AD and LeBron, the third star didnt need to Kawhi to win the title and I do believe there were other players available if they went after them hard off from the start.

But, yeah, the allure of LBJ, AD and Kawhi mightve been too much.

The timing of Kawhi's decision is not in the best interest of the team's in the running. I can begrudge Kawhi for ruminating through this discussion; I have mulled over offers for longer and for a lot less money.

I hope they make smart decisions to keep AD this offseason.

Time like this makes me miss Dr Buss more than ever. He would close the **** out of Kawhi or **** uncle Dennis. Oh well, we just have to live with what we have.
No easy way but build your reputation a bit after a bit.
