we went thru the horrible playing last season by luke who i believe coached like an amateur. while i do like luke as a player i never liked the way lakers was playing in general. we had no ball movement no pick and roll pure iso 1on1 and chasing over screen defense.

so basically all i ask for frank vogel to do is use alot more pick and roll scheme and i aint talkin about the weak screen that pretty much dont exist im talkin like a real wall screen that gets defender struggling to get thru. and lastly just the simple switch defense and not any over the screen chasing d. those 2 is all i ask from this coach at least.

I don't care how they play... This group of talent on offense will figure it out... That said, I don't think this is a running team like we've had the last couple seasons... I think we can get out in transition, but I think we're going to be most effective in the half court. LOOOOOTS of PnR between AD/LeBron/Cousins/McGee/Green/Kuz...

So on paper, I'd say we should try to be a defensive stopper first and a slow it down/grind it out team on offense...

With certain lineups the transition should be pretty good because there a some serious rebounding forces together now so someone will probably always get to leak I'd bet.

I'm looking forward to seeing AD/Kuzma/Lebron/Green/KCP on the court together. Biggest small ball lineup in the NBA.

its a vogel team so i'd imagine we're not going to be fast. I rather we focus on our defense and drain our shots when they come. Play with good ball movement as well. I think if we can do that we can still play an attractive brand of basketball, play to our strengths and most importantly, win games.

I would put more blame to Magic and Rob for our offensive woes. Allegedly, the coaching staff was opposed to some of their free agency signings and wanted to keep Randle and Brook Lopez. Nor were they thrilled about trading the farm for AD. What's done is done and there is no value gained from playing the what if game.

Sure, we'll get transition opportunities but, transition O was the primary focus of our team for the last few seasons... I don't think this team should focus on that as a primary thing. I think we're a much tougher matchup in the half court, and the other good teams in the West aren't as effective in the half court as they are in transition. So slowing it down works to our advantage...

But our Perimeter D is still a huge question mark and we can't have that if we're going to grind it out.

Absolutely agree with. There's not much Luke can do with a team with practically everyone except for Lance struggling from the perimeter(bec Magic refused to get shooters and he admitted to it)and I disagree that they hardly use the pick and rolls bec that's how McGee got most of his points.

Magic's Showtime 2.0 experiment was unsuccessful. Conceptually he may have something, but the acquired assets were not the right fit.

Defense. Hard nosed effing defense. Nothing for free! Nothing!!!

Run the break. Vogel can pretend they’re running his system, but he can’t stop Kuz, AD, McGee, Green from running and gunning.

Slow it down after the ASB, get into slower LeBron style half court ball by March and we’ll be ready for the post season in time.

65 wins.

Going to have to score more than the other team most nights

Kuzma & Green have to hit the three's.

If the 3 point is going well and Coaches substitue to rest the shooters to be ready.

Alot of having great legs is also timing of when you bring in players and when to take them out
and which teams certain players match up against.

More shooters mean open 1 on 1 for AD and Lebron

They give the ball to Davis and he dunks on them

By winning. That's how I want them to play. I don't care if they slow the pace down to a crawl and grind out games, as long as we're winning it all in the end.

If the other team doesn’t score over 90-95 points we win every game next season. I’d bet money on it.

In other words, defense. Hear that, LeBron?

Get ready to play defense on Kawhi/George, and Westbrook/Harden.

Scoring in the paint is a huge advantage. 4 guys who can shoot at or over 65% in the paint is a great thing. You put other teams in foul trouble and force them to pack the paint.... then you can get the 3's. Pick and rolls and/or inside out post game.... both can be done with our front court.

Pound the ball inside.

Our biggest advantage is we have three 7 ft monsters down low.

Playing fast is easy.

Boring af but playing big is what’s gonna separate us from other elite teams.

Actually the Lakers didn't have a problem scoring in the paint last season as they were 2nd to NO in the league. https://stats.nba.com/teams/scoring/?sort=PCT_PTS_PAINT&dir=-1 at 49.8% of their pts came from there.
Luke I felt, did a pretty good job recognizing his team's weakness in the perimeter so he devised ways to score inside.
I am expecting other teams to pack the paint early and see if the Lakers can truly hit those perimeter shots first.
I will miss those young guys but I will not miss Ball and BI missing so many FT's. I am hoping James, Rondo and Kuz also working on their FTs bec it's going to be pivotal. Clips looked good bec of their ability to nail those FTs.,best in the league, at 19.6% of their pts came from there. AD shoots 79%s while DMC is also decent 73%.
I like AD's versatility esp if they try him at center with James, Kuz, Green and Caruso (6'4) can switch guarding SGs.

PNR better be top rebounding team. Lots of zone screen sets
