The latter. You couldn't pay me enough to force me to trade for CP3 or Westbrook

Of course I mentioned Portland and Washington because I want Lillard/McCollum and Beal. I look at this squad, and the only piece I feel we need is a cold blooded off the dribble sniper that you cannot go under a screen for.

So whatever it takes to get it done if those guys were ever placed on the market.

Would give everyone and picks and Kuzma as well.

I get what you're saying especially considering the Kawhi thing... But that said, Green is actually pretty lethal if left open. Kuzma could be too...

The thing I keep coming back to, isn't so much the talent level, as it is the fit of our talent... LeBron and AD are basically made for each other. I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to imagine a more complementary pairing... This is Shaq-Kobe levels of compounded greatness...
And when you have a big 2 that are that great a fit, having a 3rd star isn't as necessary... But that said, Danny Green is pretty damned close to perfect too...
And then we have Cousins... Who AD loves and seems to be a great fit next to him... If healthy, he's still a top-5 C in the league if AD is a PF...

Personally, I just want to see what happens when these guys hit the floor... I'll be really surprised if we aren't dominating pretty much everyone right out the gate... And if we aren't I'd be willing to bet it's a coaching issue rather than a talent issue...

Sure, I'd love to land Lillard, McCollum or Beal, but I'm not sure how bad we'll need it.

The best part about this team, may actually be how deadly our bench is if lead by Kuz... Caruso/KCP/Kuz/Dudly/McGee should be one of the toughest second units in the league... And Depth wins championships as much as anything...

It's going to be a fun season.

I agree with most of what you wrote esp the bolded part particularly Green who doesn't dominate the ball and play very good defense. I really like Lillard and CJ and yes esp Beal but the first 2 don't play great defense. I agree with Max Kellerman when he said Lakers would have been the favorite to win it all if only they acquired Pat Beverley. I feel if healthy, he would be perfect next to AD, Lebron and Green, with his smothering defense and ability to shoot. But Caruso have shown great promise

also Bradley esp his defense.

Beal is more of a long-term plan though. SG and PF are the best two positions to have stars in and the Lakers would have that covered with AD and Beal for the next 5 years in their prime.

This year it would make a stronger 7-man rotation in the playoffs simply because Beal can take more minutes than Green:

PG: Caruso (32) | Bradley (16)
SG: Beal (32) | Bradley (16)
SF: LeBron (40) | Beal (8)
PF: AD (16) | Kuzma (32)
C : Cousins (24) | AD (24)

If Danny Green is still an impact beast like last season then I wouldn't do it. If he isn't then I would.

We have Kuzma to pick up where Green leaves off... I'm not a fan of Kuzma as a primary creator... I just don't think he has those skills in him... But as a spot up shooter and open lane attacker, he could be great... I think this new influx of talent is going to be good for him... It'll keep him glued to the bench unless he plays that particular role to the limits of his abilities... But if he does that, I think he has all-star talent... So it's a win-win...
About the time Green starts losing steps, Kuzma could be looking like a reasonable Klay Thompson facsimile... And we'll be set for the remainder of AD's prime at the 2/3...

But, if the org doesn't see that in Kuz right now, or he's not looking like a good fit in camp, he'll still be a valuable trade piece, and we can move him for a Beal, if needed.

I just don't think we need to make that move right now. Let's get through camp and see how we're doing... If we have any awkward fits, we can feature them and try to move them after the moratorium.

Same here. Always pictured him a Laker. He is a generational level great big man. AD, KAJ, Wilt, Shaq, Pau, Mikan. He belongs. Any other franchise wouldn’t be worthy his legacy. He’s going to be the next Laker great big man. It’s like getting Kareem, just as he entered his prime.

I agree with keeping kuz.

The package for Beal would be Green, KCP, picks. I don't think it's worth moving Kuzma and Green for Beal right now

I doubt we could get Beal for that, but if we could, I'd be on board.

Davis is crazy agile for a dude his size. He was a guard before he hit his growth spurt in high school, and stuff like this video shows it. I think we're going to see the talking heads asking if AD is the best player in the world by Christmas.

I love this for us, we have a big point forward in James, the shooter in Green and two dominant bigs in Davis and Cousins. This will be a beautiful thing. Running a Horn play with Davis and Cousins setting the pick and the other rolling with James creating and Green and Bradley standing outside to shoot lights out.

I just love the chemistry of Davis and Cousins so much from New Orleans, now they have a better creator and the proper floor spacing....

Its like a wet dream you guys

It would not surprise me if LeBron leads the NBA in Assists next season, I mean he averaged 8+ last year with a team of youngsters that could not shoot, while next years team is less mistake prone as well.

And it would not surprise me if AD averages 30ppg! He is motivated, in shape, well rested and ready to explode on the court!
