So I have been reading that they don’t have a specific no trade clause written in their contact, what they have is a player option for their last year which is 2020-2021. What I’m reading is that it acts as a defacto no trade clause.
There has got to be a way around this. Any ideas?

Re: Regarding KCP and McGee no trade clauses
Extend and trade... I think, since we offered them 2 year deals instead of 1, they can be extended, but I'm not sure on that.
Or work it out with the player and the destination team so that the destination team offers them a better contract so they waive their option.
I get that theirs a timing element to all that, and I don't know what it is exactly, but there are options... Including just working with the player to get them to agree to a trade.

KCP retained his bird rights so he can't be traded without his consent, same with rondo apparently

KCP needs to go to prison for robbery after that contract we gave him.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

Re: Regarding KCP and McGee no trade clauses
KCP does the same thing every year, stats off bad then like 2nd half the season he starts playing good.
We need to lose him asap IMO even if it's only for a 2nd round daft pic, doubt we'll get much for him

Re: Regarding KCP and McGee no trade clauses
We need KCP to get a phone call from Klutch, saying he’s going to Memphis for Iggy, period. I’m sure Klutch can find a way to make it up to him.
We also need to go after Van Fleet. Can they use McGee? I believe he’s the perfect PG for this team. Trading McGee for Van Fleet’s expiring is risky, but I’d take that risk right away if we can find a way to get Van Fleet. It requires Cousins to be healthy, however.

Van vleet wants to be a starter. He's a starter in Toronto. Wherever he ends up signing, he'll want to be a starterstan francisco wrote:We need KCP to get a phone call from Klutch, saying he’s going to Memphis for Iggy, period. I’m sure Klutch can find a way to make it up to him.

Good. I want him to be our starting point. He’s the perfect fit. Caruso the backup, then Rondo. But hey, I’m fine with Caruso starting, don’t know what Vogel is waiting for.
Ideal lineup to finish off the season:
Van Fleet, Caruso, Rondo
LeBron, Green, Bradley
Kuzma, Iggy, LeBron, THT
Davis, Kuzma, Caroline/Cacok
Howard, Cousins, Kostas
Trade any combo of KCP, Norvell, Daniels, Cook, JMG, Cacok or Caroline somehow for a return of Iggy and Van Fleet. We’re in win now mode.

Man getting FVV and Iggy would be perfect. I just don’t think there’s any way the Raptors would trade him.
Numbers rule the universe.

He recently said that it’s not a given that he stays. He wants to win, is a real baller. His contract runs out this season. Take a risk, hope he resigns?

yes, just get them to agree to not veto a trade
