It's not like Caruso or Daniels is going to make a night and day difference with those minutes. We have a PG rotation of marginal improvements at best.

it's not the statistics of the individual player. the complete disrespect the other team has for rondo's shot causes huge spacing issues that are never present when its caruso/kcp/green/ab at the guard spots. and he doesn't even compensate for it defensively. this board just gets fooled by the 1-2 flashy passes he has a game. at least all the other guards are excellent defenders so they can help even when their shot isn't falling
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Offense stagnant again. This seems like a team we could get out and run on...

Yeah, but so what? It's just Rondo... It's not like it's a major number of possessions... And guys keep forgetting, that EVERY player has something...

And look at that possession... They looked like they were right up on Rondo at the 3pt line... I'm just not seeing it.

When what is obvious has to be denied is when rational evaluation gives way to bias.

im not going to derail a game thread with my dislike of rondo, so ill just agree to disagree. happy to discuss in a separate rondo thread. it's unfortunate you are not seeing the same spacing issues that i see particularly when lbj and ad have the ball in their hands. but it is a significant number of possessions bc he is playing way too many mins, so it does deserve a separate discussion

Nice end to the half. Some ragged defense out there with that group. Howard and Davis in the front court was taken advantage of and we didn't adjust.

The fact that he's shooting 39% from the field on the season despite getting left wide open every game shows how bad he is.

What's weird about LeBron and those blocks is how he can take off so much after a guy and get to the top of his trajectory before the other guy does... It's like he defies physics or something...

So... Howard with 1 board and Davis with 4pts. Not sure either of those trend in the second half. Bench is a + and starters a - so far tonight. Good to see Kuzma being aggressive again. Not sure what was going on over the last couple games with him. He still isn't moving great in comparison to last year so maybe conditioning or maybe the ankle is still nagging him.

Another team shooting lights out from 3 in the first half.... not sure that will continue either. If we have our typical 3rd quarter we should get some separation.

Again... Nobody's arguing he's not a bad 3pt shooter... Nobody's arguing that it wouldn't be better if he was better at shooting 3s...

We're just saying in the context of this team, who we have on the court with him, and who we have on the bench... It just doesn't matter all that much that he's what... 6% off where he should be from 3?

He jumped from the dotted line on this one and still got to it. He doesn't get up nearly as high as he used to, but he'll probably still be doing chasedowns when he's 40.

The 3s haven't even really been the problem for him this year. 35% from 3 isn't great, especially considering that many of them have been wide open, but you can't hope for much better from him. The problem has been the complete lack of a midrange game from him. 20% from 3-10 feet, 0% from 10-14 feet, and 25% from 16 feet-3pt.

Rondo is the shooter of last resort... If he's shooting, it's basically a failed possession. And it doesn't happen all that often.

He's not out there to score... And nobody's arguing that him missing mid range shots is causing the the defense to collapse and clogging the lane... The only logical argument that you can make that Rondo is hurting our offense is because he doesn't get respect at the 3pt line...
