He’s put into bad position by defending big wings. He should be defending SGs and providing weakside defense

Who’s gonna defend the big wings then? Lebron?

Yes.
Let’s say Ben was just able to score 16pts, 12pts less than his average. I’d say Lakers would have won.
Another thing with asking Green to defend Ben is the problems with transition defense where Green has to chase Ben. Ben is one of the fastest players in the league. This is why Lakers had a weak transition defense this game.
You may not agree with me. But Ben’s numbers would speak for themselves that putting Green on Ben was not the way to go.

Danny Green has played an average of 89 games over the past 8 seasons. You can't expect veterans like him to turn up for end of road trip games in January and February. If he's struggling in the playoffs, I'll start being concerned at that time.

His +/- is second only to LBJ. AD is third. Green’s shots are not even falling and he’s still being uber effective. It’s called defense.
This, and he’s barely trying. He’s mid season idling right now. Trading him no would be very short sighted.

The "he'll turn it on in the playoffs" thoughts aren't based in the recent past..... it's been 5 years since his playoff stats exceeded his regular season stats. Yes, he can have a "hot" game here or there but if Kuzma is inconsistent what is Green?
I've not watched a ton of him in previous years other than when we have played teams he's been on. So far this season I've not been impressed with his skillset or his effort. Most of his defensive "issues" are based in being out of position or a lack of effort.

One of the better and more reliable defenders on the team, and one of the better and more reliable 3 pt shooters in the team, he’s exactly what he’s supposed to be. He’ll be out there with Lebron and AD when it’s all on the line.

Yeah... Green isn't the problem.
He's filling his role... Bradley and Caruso are filling their roles... Actually, even with the recent slump, Caruso has exceeded expectations....
KCP has turned it up and has become really solid for us...
McGee and Howard have given us everything we want and more.
If you're looking for disappointment, that discussion begins and ends with Rondo and Kuzma.

Disappointment is directly related to production IMHO... not expectations. Green is flat out not producing anything. This idea that he's a consistent defender is not born out in any results that I've seen over the last 15 games. He's been one of the lease effective perimeter defenders. Scoring is consistently poor. The 3 ball% is good but the standard deviation is massive (so are most 3 point shooter but I digress).
Not sure why Green is getting a pass here.... especially compared to his salary on a completely capped team. Sure Kuzma has had issues with the system and injury but his trade value couldn't be lower both in terms of perceived value and actual salary value. Green can be a guy who could get someone who could truly fill a gap in the team with his salary slot. I'd say send Kuzma for potential and Green for salary and get someone who can show up more than once a month.

Let's trade him to the Dubs for Klay. Hopefully he'll be ready by the post-season.

We'll give you Mo Harkless for him, straight up.

So, in your opinion, he's been what you were expecting.... or are you in the "wait till the post season" camp?
He's the 3rd highest paid I believe and he's been largely a no-show in many games. I just don't see him as a guy who should be untouchable based on his production. If we're looking for an impact wing player you're not getting them for Kuzma's contract and a second round pick I'd think. You'll have to trade some salary and Rondo and KCP have structural no trade clauses I believe.
As for KCP... he's been doing well of late but the down side of his streakiness is lurking. Now should we trade him because of it?... I don't think so because when he's not hitting the shot he still versatile enough to create for others and gives effort all the time. Green seems to be on "coast" a lot... then again I've never followed him that much previously. Maybe this is his normal.
Not "done" with him but definitely not impressed.

What I meant by that was that KCP was prematurely judged harshly when he was on a slump

OK... I see a difference in effort. When KCP was missing shots you couldn't fault the effort. He'll go full circle and will miss them again but the effort is there. Green seems to be just going through the motions. Like I said, I haven't watched a ton of him in the past but he's very limited in that he has minimal value as a guard if he isn't hitting the 3's. His defense hasn't been very good either. He isn't a facilitator in any way either. The shooting is in a slump but the rest is a constant this year.
