Not as good as his brother, but the Lakers didn't have to trade any rotational players to get him.

Cousins is getting waived. I don't know how I feel about that in relation to Davis resigning.

Pay cousins his full salary, grant him full access to the team, let him work with Handy and Seto, and then offer him the vet min at start of free agency.
Pelinka can show two things here. He’s is about winning and he can be respectful

Im sure DMC and the Lakers had a good agreement in place and w AD , all had a unified mind on this going into it (and not like a blindsighting DMC w him learning this on twitter or something) ..
I hope it is daniels if we are to lose anyone from the bench. or quinn. Please no one else.

But our Morris is the brother who is winning the chip this season.

100% the right move. There’s a title on the line and we need to fill the holes in our roster.

Ya this is the best for Cousins and LA. Now he has no pressure to rush back and try to produce come playoff time. I am sure he will re-sign with the Lakers in the offseason.

If I'm not mistaken, can't the clippers claim him off waivers ?if they really wanted to ?

There's a lot of potential upside in this and very little risk... Markieff looks to me like a guy that's prime for a Dwight Howard like career resurgence in the right environment. He'll have the kind of limited role on a good team with very little pressure, that should foster that...
At worst, he fills a position of need for us.
Kuzma seems to be getting stronger too, so maybe moving him so he can start bullying 3s is just what he needs to create some mojo.
That said, isn't everyone sort of overstating his shooting ability? The only year he's ever been close to a "40% 3pt shooter" was last season. He's 35% for his career and basically a 12/5 guy for 20min a game (and he misses a ton of games). Which granted, is well suited for the role we want him to play, but still... I think the reporting should be accurate.

Great move. Fills a glaring need at the 3 and 4 specially with post-season matchups .
DMC would have been nice to have . But a player like Morris will be much more valuable.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he went to the clippers last minute. You know they thought about it. I really hope they get payback for all the effort they put into trying to hurt the Lakers. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a team directly target another team as much. Must the be Ballmer business method.

Ballmer is a cutthroat business guy.
Rivers is a cutthroat coach.
I wouldn’t put it past them to try to do that.
But they are loaded at the 3 and 4 position. They don’t have minutes for Markieff.
He’ll be a Laker.

Yes, it is. He’s been sued a million times for stealing the ideas of others and he always ended up rewarded for it, through litigation that he could basically pay his way for winning. He’s a parasite copycat with billions in his pockets, the living proof that money can’t buy class.

Only the Hawks have a big enough exception to claim Cousins off waivers
