Read on Twitter

Per Sam Amick:
Per league rules, he can continue his rehab with the Lakers, at their practice facility, but he can’t fly on the team plane or sit on the bench once he’s waived. But the Lakers could re-sign him this summer, something both sides have expressed interest in pursuing, sources said.

That's a smart bet if someone offers Dwight more than the Lakers are willing to offer.

You just know someone like Cuban is going to offer Dwight a big contract.

Dwight the way he plays now definitely is worth a $15 /yr type of contract

Like the way the Lakers are handling Cousins. I haven’t given up on the idea that he can be an extremely productive player. Take the full year to rehab (something he needed last year anyway) and then give it a go. Hope when he IS ready to go it’s still with the Lakers.

The idea that Cousins, at this point, could bring anything close to what Dwight is doing defensively is laughable. Cousins, at his best, was basically disinterested and ill equipped to give us what Dwight is doing this year. And this is coming from someone who thought Dwight was overrated for most of his career defensively.

Cousins, coming of the injuries he's had will be a shadow of what he was... which was a scoring big who largely filled space defensively. Our hallmark is and has been defense in the paint. Let's hope we find a way to keep Dwight and if we entertain Cousins it's as a 3rd or 4th big.
