There is a clause in the NBA which states that the team with the best record after February 1st would be the NBA Champion if the season is cancelled due to uncontrollable circumstances...

How would you guys feel about it... It kind of feels like the Spurs 50 game season... I am torn & a Laker fan but at the end of the day, sports seem to mean a little less right now with COVID-19...

Im all for announcing Lakers as being the Champions for 2020. They should amend the clause w a formula that integrates overall record and storyline /fan emotional inspiration. We should be awarded the championship then.

I would trash the significance of that title just like I would if they awarded it to some other team.

I would prefer a short playoff series or something of that nature... That game in Feb against Bucks was huge... We lose that & they have better record...

Im all for anything qualifying the Lakers to becoming the champions.

I would go as far as to say, I would sign any stipulation stating that if a season is cancelled,
the NBA will look at all Laker wins,
compare them to the Opponents of those Laker wins,
and whoever has the highest Win record...
in those said games,
will be the NBA champion of that season.

Sounds perfectly fair to me.

This would be absolutely great from the perspective of Doc and the "load management" crap he pulls. It would give meaning to the regular season which the NBA has struggled with IMHO since they started putting half the teams in the playoffs.

This is like some Clip ish mentality...

It would feel kind of shallow in truth, also the bucks would win i'd imagine since they have the best record in the league.
