It appears likely that the NBA will be housed at Walt Disney World in Florida when play resumes, with all teams playing in one location. Goodbye home-court advantage.
For the Lakers, such a switch would change their opponent in the first round to the Brooklyn Nets if standings remain the same. While one can argue the quality of the Nets compared to the Grizzlies, but should Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant decide to return from their respective injuries (though it appears unlikely), that could become a much more difficult matchup.

Will the Lakers agree to this? should KD and Kyrie be allowed to play? Is this fair?

We're more likely to see Cousins back than KD...
KD's probably at least another year from being close to the player he was before his injury... Kyrie has had multiple injuries this season and seems to not be gelling with his team all that well...
No way those guys come back to face the Lakers in the first round matchup this season. But even if they did, not worried.

Kyrie’s out 6 months and I highly doubt the nets would dare trot KD out earlier than planned.

I don't think either of them play.

But if that's the seeding and they do play Kyrie and KD so be it.

There's no perfect solution that works for every team, and I don't expect that.

If the seeding works out worse for us than expected we'll have to overcome it like anyone would have to overcome any obstacle in sports.

Being able to play and being able to play at a level that would be in any way a threat are 2 vastly different things for the injuries those guys have. I'm not sure Durant is ever the same guy he was before.

The wiretap is saying that teams prefer 1-16 based on record seeding instead of conference record

I would assume the West prefers 1-16 while the East prefers conference seeding.
