New Orleans never got the kind of output from their centers that the Lakers got from Dwight and McGee this season. Davis will likely play more center in the playoffs but the Lakers themselves might end up using line up combos that they never showed in the regular season.

I think AD at PF is the way to go. Top teams have a big PF that has C size like Siakam or Giannis.

Lol dude I recorded the game and it cut off with 42 seconds left. Went to panic mode. Had to watch the rest on a highlight youtube clip.

Lou Will watched the stripper movie Showgirl at his hotel during the game while downing Domino’s chicken wings.

I think I saw flashes of what Kuzma can become. He actually blocked Kawhi down the stretch. And hit key buckets. I'm likin it!

My thoughts from the game:

-Lebron looked like he was in one of those "moods" where he is overly passive and not aggressive. Same as he was in the season opener. Of course he turned it up in the fourth and came through big at the end. His defense was also incredible.

-AD is a monster. No surprises there

-Waiters gives us something we desperately need right now; dribble penetration from the guard spots. It's something the team needed all along. Great pick up if he keeps his head straight. In a perfect world, Bradley would be here and he retaining his starting role for defensive intensity purposes, and Dion would be playing any minutes Rondo played. That said, the Waiters/JR lineups were a problem, and not in a good way. Especially if Kuz is in with them.....not enough ball movement. Our most bench heavy lineup should be Caruso/Waiters/Kuz/Lebron or AD/ Dwight.

- Speaking of Kuzma. His effort was fantastic defensively and hustle wise.

- Clippers really missed Harrell way more than they did Lou. In fact, while Lou's scoring is always going to be a concern for the defense, I believe we did a good job getting him switched on Lebron the previous meeting which really got him going. We didn't have that luxury last night. Harrell, though, brings only positives in this matchup....something they desperately need to contain AD.

- Dwight looked off. Not sure if it was typical younger dwight effort/mental issues, or he's a little out of shape, or a combination. Refs didn't help with the ticky tack fouls. It's fine, just one game.

Overall, both teams were rusty as expected. 7 more games is more than enough to regain close to top form before the playoffs. So happy to have Laker basketball back

I agree with you on this. If you meant that switching LeBron on Lou got LeBron really going then i agree.

Always the general consensus from casual basketball fans is that if you have a player out /missing from a game, they always speak of if conceptually that player was playing, " they would have added another 25 pts to the final score" .

No it doesn't. It changes the game wholly dynamically ; it can be a whole different game and we could have even beaten them by more maybe. Because lou was out last nite , lebron had to put in more effort on defense this game.

Yup that's exactly what I mean. Even if the lakers did get the switch on a small guy, there is huge difference between Lou guarding lebron than Pat Bev or even Shamet and Reggie Jackson.

And couldn't agree more regarding your last point. That's why yesterday was an interesting example for me; The narrative was that the clippers were shorthanded, and not just short handed, but missing two huge pieces. Those guys certain are two huge pieces, but when you factor in matchups and the overall dynamic, it becomes way more complicated than just missing two pieces.

Kawhi looked like he hadn't done anything basketball related during the shutdown... He can still bury shots, but when Kuzma is giving you fits defensively, you've got issues... Not taking anything away from Kuz, but last 3 times we played them, Kawhi pretty much got everything he wanted against everyone other than fully locked in and engaged lebron, and sometimes AD.

Lou is getting too overrated by media and the flipper fans.. just ask any die hard Raptors fan, they were too happy to let him go. If Demar was a no show during the playoffs, more so for Lou.

I think the clippers missing Trezz has more weight though. He gives them a different complexion/toughness coming from the bench. So yeah, they weren’t at full strength. But I still like the lakers chances. Superstar vs superstar; I think we have the edge

Nice to see LBJ playing defense like a man. Also nice to get it confirmed that they don’t have an answer to AD.

Happily surprised with Waiters’ offense. He can keep scoring pace with Lou Williams if needed. Add some hard nosed defense to that and he’s a steal. Can he pass, too?

Kuz is looking like many of us had expected him to show up last October. This is the Kuz loved by Popovic and many of us here; pre-injury. I stick by my third star label.

Caruso is my favorite Laker right now. His defense is greatly disruptive. Can’t wait until his threes start dropping again.

Yeah, but only think I didn't like is when AD scored 0 pts in the 4 quarter. In fact his 4th quarter production vs them has not been good. First three he was ok, but the 4th quarter is moneytime and if we lose in the playoffs then it's on him. LeBron can't do it alone.
