Frustrated with the double teams. I think he'll be fine. Passing out of them aren't his strong suit. Should have imposed his will more. He'll be okay.

Shaq had double and triple teams but still destroyed them.

Don't know if you noticed but ad isn't Shaq.
It's something he has to improve on but LeBron it going to be on the bench getting rest as much in the playoffs. So it shouldn't really be a dire thing imo. I think he was frustrated and just not engaged. This is normal when teams clinch up the seed.
In the regular prepandemic season they would be resting or getting super light mins after clinching

Another bad game. Davis looked so passive on the court. Didn't like his body language at all.

Okay, I think he's a great player, not a top 10-25 player yet. And I'm still kinda at peace with the fact that the 8 pt game came now rather than later. I don't think I would've enjoyed seeing him forcing bad shots and going 6 of 25 when he clearly doesn't have his shot falling on the night. It takes intelligence, maturity and selflessness to realize that and buckle down to contribute in other ways(8 reb, 4 ast, 2 blk, 2 stl). Dion Waiters vs Rockets was the most recent example of that - 25 mins, 2/10(after being 2/4 in the first half), 0 assists(while being the primary ball handler most of the time), still going on to chuck at least 4/6 bad shots in the 2nd half just to get his. Mamba mentality is good for all time great shooters / offensive players like Kobe, Kyrie, etc, not the rest of the world.
Also, Frank Vogel, Kidd and the rest of the Lakers coaching staff are definitely amongst the bottom 5/30 offensive coaches, putting additional pressure on our as it is limited playmakers. I mean the double screens and skip passes have become so predictable. Passing the ball to AD in the post is not really setting him up. That's just letting him go get his if he can. We gotta have a few plays to get him easy buckets, not to tire him out having to go around and create all his buckets. Just shamelessly copy some stuff from Pop or Brad Stevens. It's ridiculous how many easy layups their average players get cos of set plays.
I'm more worried about the guard defense and shooting. The fact that we had to give QC, THT and Dud so many minutes so we could get some shooting going after shooting an abysmal 7 of 56 from 3 the last 2 games. Safe to say that Green and Bradley would not have let TJ Warren get 39 and their starting guards getting 92 points on 64% shooting.

You probably couldn't count on both hands a 25ppg scorer that was a top 3 DPOY candidate in the last 20 years.
He's in the discussion as a top 5 player in the league. One bad game doesn't change that.

Sounds like if AD would have played even average, we would have won by 10+ points. And even then, it took Warren getting red hot in order for Indiana to win.
I didn't see the game because I was at the cottage with the family, but it sounded like Howard, THT, Cook played well. I think our bench needs to be Kuz/Waiters/Cook/Howard.
I hope we treat the Denver game with a playoff style rotation.

Agreed. I meant, not a top 10-25 'all time' player yet, if that's why you quoted me.

Lol hard disagree. I'm not a kuz fan. In fact, you can classify me as a hater if you'd like. I think he's overrated by laker fans but he's cheap so he returns good value. That being said, he has more experience and could help. THT barely has any playing time. I don't think sticking him in the playoff rotation is going to help. Kuz defense has been improving. He's actually playing well in the bubble. I think he had like one bad game. He's been the most steady 3pt shooter inside the bubble

All good points esp about AD and coaching staff. I’ve been a harsh critic of Vogel and his assistants for their lack of creative sets with multiple options but I cannot imagine Lebron and Pelinka not demanding Frank to put them in much better position to be more efficient offensively and I gotta believe they are saving a few schemes for the playoffs.
Yes I’m nervous because anything can happen but these vets should be ready with much better effort and focus some postseason.

I am dead certain they're saving the Lebron + AD/Dwight/McGee - big to big Pn'R for the Clips, since they didn't do it once in Game 1 of the season after basically spamming it all through the pre season games. AD was posted up 18 times in that game, which may not have happened for any big since Shaq perhaps. The alterations are overwhelmingly mouthwatering with possibilities of 2 lob threats on the same P&R - Lebron's elite passing ability when defenders try to cheat and help / AD's ridiculous reach on lobs / Lebron drive and finish when AD takes the big away / ridiculous mismatch against opponents' small lineups / foul trouble on opposing bigs/wings. Dwight's an under rated Pn'R player too - savvy screener and roller. In the post game press conference, Vogel said they couldn't use it cos the Clips switch everything. I call BS gamesmanship on that. They haven't used it too much all year.
If I'm wrong about it, I'm basically giving up on our chances right now, since Avery Bradley left. He's a bigger piece than we're realizing. I don't see how we can go all the way without an ace in the hole with this kinda deficit.

Tonite's game important to win. We need to bump up Houston to 3rd seed and bring down Denver to 4th as much as possible.
