P.S. This year's playoff run is for Kobe, Gigi, Dr Buss,Tex, and Frank.

low key this reminds me of the Mavs series.

The bigs can’t stop AD, but they can affect Lebron‘a paint work. Need elite, playoff shape, LBJ to show. If he’s still got it, no one is challenging the Lakers.

This will be a challenge, but If we come out of this round then I believe we will come out looking good. It make or break for us in the 1st round.

My take. Lakers in 5 or 6

I'm not sure if I'm alone on this one. Maybe I don't get it but I'm not worried at all for this series. I love Dame. Great player, the Blazers are a cool team and if Lakers loose this series I want them to take it. But they are not the better team and I don't think it's that close.

I don't know who stops AD or LBJ. I think you force Dame to have an inefficient night and we have a chance.

My biggest worry is Javale and Green. They need to step up.

Agree. Lakers forum has really died down since the Kobe/Pau/Odoom days. I guess people just move on with life and its not as "poppin"
as before.
There was a time when our regular game threads would hit 20 pages with ease. Lucky to see 3-4 pages now. Im not as active as I used to be either. More of a lurker now.

I think if these team forums upgraded into live chatrooms for the playoffs, drafts, etc, it would be a lot more fun.

That said, the Blazers have no answer for AD and Lebron. The Lakers have no answer for Dame. Lakers in 5. I think first game will be a nail biter. Eventually, Lakers will adjust and win. Dame will probably steal a game with 50.

It will be a challenging round for sure. We are going to have a really hard time dealing with CJ and Dame in the back court. But I guess the flipside is, they have nothing to match up against LBJ and AD. Nurkic is a good big man, but hes way too slow footed to guard AD one on one. I think Dwight needs to have a big series to limit Nurkic and we need our backcourt players to at least score some three pointers if they are not going to limit Dame and CJ.

I prefer a hard first round so we don't start off rusty in the second round, which usually happens to a Lebron James led team.

A tough first round can boost the team's game shape which is not a bad thing at all. IF we couldn't even beat the Blazers, we have no chance to win the chip.
Limiting CK and Dame is the key to the success to the first series
Unlike Kawhi or PG, both CK and Dame are not big wings who KCP would be able to muscle with.
We really need Green to step up to be our first line of protection on the perimeter. Badly, Bradley could be very useful in this series.
We can definitely take this series if AD turns aggressive again.

Lakers in 6. The Blazers have a terrible defense, they can't stop LeBron, they can't stop Lillard. My prediction is Lakers in 6 because our 3pt shooting and 3pt defense are awful.

Let's not get over confident let's take each game one at a time and take this series as the finals, mentality.

LeBron has never lost in the first round. So they'll be ok

Lol maybe. It would be interesting if they upset the Lakers but I don't think it's likely.

Damian Lillard has been playing playoff mins ever since he got in the bubble. He's going to burn out. They're going to trap Dame.

The return of Rondo is so fitting now. The lakers had the worst offense in the bubble. Lillard also is burning hot. Rondo will be appreciated greatly

Big time scared of the Blazers. We have to be on our game. If we don't make shots, we'll lose. If we make 10-15 3's a game, we'll be just fine.

Gotta bring it though. And I'm worried about them flipping the switch.

Gotta do this for Kobe. It's been a long time since this team has been in the playoffs with an expectation to win. It's time. Hopefully people return to the board for this.

I think with Rondo running a second unit this is a sweep. I think with Caruso this is a 6 gamer series
