Is the General Board a real legitimate forum, or is it secretly one of those "onion"-type sites where everyone posts ironically and has some type of unspoken agreement to just troll each other?

Especially when it comes to our Lakers, some of the takes over there really make me question if I'm looking at satire or not.

Dude the general board has always been filled with comically over the top Lakers bashing. I have to be honest though, I’m enjoying the salt from some of the whiners. Especially from the people who whines about FT disparity in favor of the Lakers in game 1, then where silent about it in favor of the Nuggets in game 2.

I wouldn't be bothered by it much.

Sometimes when i read something very insulting or putting down our team or lebron or what have you
(gb or elsewhere),
I chuckle bc usually it is done by kids or a few 20/30yr old somethings who haven't accomplished much in life, so usually it is more a reflection of themselves than anything else.

I'm less bothered and more confused.

I know for a while people used green font color to indicate sarcasm. I thought maybe the board decided to do away with the green and just use sarcasm 100% of the time.

I enjoy going in there and adding fuel to the fire sometimes lol. It’s funny to get the haters angry.

As a GB mod I can tell you that it's entirely satire

I've been lurking and posting on this forum for about 15 years now, and I can confidently say the GB is the biggest waste of time if you want to have actual conversations about basketball. I have only posted about 5 posts, maybe less, on the GB and it's usually met with really dumb comments. If you're a Lakers fan forget about having any type of real debates about anything. GB is the area where Laker bashing is just the norm.

Do yourself a favor and stick to the Lakers board. Yes we argue, but it's intelligent here. Over at the GB, you'll probably get trolled.
