No.
That trade is terrible.
I’d rather keep that depth and build around our core with a shooter and a wing

Keep Caruso at all cost. I would put Caruso untouchable unless there's a offer we can't refuse.

Re-sign KCP (full Bird), Rondo (early Bird), Dwight, Kieff.
Find a trade for McGee/Cook/Kuzma/2020 FRP (total 10.8 mil) for an expiring mid level player (Rudy Gay? Patty Mills? Trevor Ariza? Tony Snell? JJ Redick?)
Use what's leftover of MLE/BAE for Collison/Cousins. Fill out roster with vet minimums

I still can't get my head around Danny Green making 15 million. We gotta trade him.

True. But he does make everyone better and would allow coaching staff to alternate rest periods for LBJ/AD/CP3 while still having 2 dominant players active at all times (if healthy). Would still have to give up way too much for him, so not gonna happen.

Think Lakers will seriously try to trade for Oladipo, McDermott, Rose, CP3
Think realistic FA targets will be Markieff, TT, Josh Jackson. Unrealistic targets are Gallo, Harris, Grant

I dunno. From what I saw from him is talent but not a lot of urgency or high level thinking in defense. Not that we have a lot of that but I want to add more of the lebron, rondo, caruso, kcp types.

Just before injuries in 2018-18 he was 1st team all defense and I think he was one of the best defenders for his size that I have seen. He seems to be everywhere on defense. Imagine this guy, Bradley, Caruso and AD.
Main concern I have with Oladipo is injury risk and load management.

If CP3 is serious about a championship, he’ll ask for a buyout. That’s the only way I see CP3 coming to the Lakers.

agree with this.
also, if jeanie buss really wants cp3 here, theres more than enough money to go around "under the table"

Oladipo and McDermott could be had for Green, Kuzma, Bradley, pick 28.
McDermott could be had for pick 28 and salary filler (McGee, Cook)
Oladipo could be had for Green, Kuzma, Bradley
PG: Caruso | Rondo
SG: Oladipo | KCP
SF: LeBron | McDermott
PF: Davis | Markieff
C : Howard | Cousins

I still don't see how financially a Chris Paul deal could even work for the Lakers. Could someone help me out here?
