League start 2020/21

You know, when the finance committee decides to start the league up right away, the reason is that the NBA would lose $500 million if starting later.

This is why you don’t let finance committees decide stuff like this. It seems to me that December 22 is way too soon if Silver expects LBJ, AD, Leonard, Murray, Butler, Giannis to be healthy for the playoffs, in my opinion.

Danny Green just stated something like, ‘LeBron won’t be there for the first month or so if we start that soon’. I was gonna guess end of January but then the news of Dec 22 came out.

Question to those of you who may have played pro ball or something close to it; how long do you think is needed for the players in the Finals (happens to be us this year) to get proper time to recover? In other words, when do you think would be a reasonable re-start date?

Edit: maybe this will lead to a bigger cap or higher luxury tax limit to accommodate load management. That would be a good thing.
NBA titles since the merger: LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4.

They had basically an entire off-season from March 11th through July 30.

I don't get what all the fuss is about. The stars will be managed and miss games periodically.

Think of the teams that didn't go to the bubble. They will have gone 10 months without playing a game. That's insane.

Good points. I’m just not sure all the teams would like to live in the bubble for eight months. Opening the arenas to crowds means shutting down in a matter of weeks.
