Feel Good thread!

Still early to be looking at these numbers, but 7 lethargic games is a somewhat acceptable sample set. I continue to be insanely high on the defensive and offensive improvement due to the smashing offseason we had, and getting rid of some dead wood in Dwight / McGee.

Offensive Rating League rank # 5. 2019-20 full year's rank would have been #3 @ this rating. Bucks #1, Nets #4 & Clips #17

- Vogel's still figuring out the best lineups
- Bron, Schroeder, Gasol getting a better understanding of their receivers strengths / habits
- I'm hoping for Vogel to run Trez & AD on an infinite loop of P&R with Lebron / Schroeder in starting minutes, which may never happen :(

Defensive Rating League Rank # 4. 2019-20 full year's rank would have been #1 @ this rating. Clips #11, Bucks # 3 & Nets #20

- AD still seems to be in silent protest mode against the shortened offseason
- Goat Caruso is yet to check in
- New guys still learning some rotations

Most interesting thing I heard was in the Griz version of the broadcast. Last season the Lakers ranked 13th in hockey assists, meaning the essentially all just ate off the table Bron or Rondo set. This season so far the Lakers are the number 1 hockey assist team so far so you can say they are over passing now and there’s a lot of sharing the rock

I reacted to that, too. That’s maybe the best stat we have going, out of many very good stats.

The defense we played in the playoffs was some of the best defense I’ve ever seen any team play, ever. If we can repeat that and add a great sharing offense, who beats us ... ?

This team looks like it’s cruising at 75% and turning it up to 80% in the 4th quarter to win comfortably.

Here’s to a healthy season!

Thanks for sharing, unfortunately 4 of those games were against non playoff teams including the very bad TWolves without KAT, no LMA, no Morant and JJJ. I’m intrigued about their ORTG AND DRTG vs Portland and Clips.
About Hockey assists, I really think Kuzma’s maturation-spotting open teammates instead of forcing shots have something to do with it unlike before.

Rondo pounded the ball to he saw what he liked. Dwight and Javale finished. Bradley also just finished. Danny made the right basketball play most times though.

What I’ve noticed is that Kuzma, KCP, Kieff, Wes, and Marc do a lot of passing up their look to get someone else a look if they see it. But at the same time there are a lot more picks, back screens, cuts, dives, and stuff with this group. Yea we don’t have a lob threat, but we have a lot of action to get everyone open and be rewarded.

I mean I know people say well how can Marc not score. But he’s taking 2 shots a whole game some nights and the team is moving off him like he’s the best passing big we had since Shaq. I don’t mean to disrespect Pau who could pass, but really I haven’t seen this many cutters since Shaq

I was shocked Kuzma capped himself at 9 shots too after a quick first quarter start, but youre right. He just went to work. What I’m seeing from him is what I always wanted to see. I didn’t want Kobe 2. I wanted a Rick Fox on this team and he reminds me of Rick now a lot

2nd easiest schedule so far. To quote the immortal philosopher Kobe Bryant, it is what it is. Next three should be relative cake before we get into a challenging stretch with 10 of 12 on the road. Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Boston, ATL, Houston (x2) ... those are going to be some real tests.

The other 3 have come against the Clips, Mavs & Blazers who are all top 10 sides in the league. Clips got us on on a meaningless game on ring night & Trent Jr ain't shooting like that ever again in his career. I'd say it's fairly balanced.

And the baseball like matches of playing people more than once so soon makes it weird, as any good coach/player should adjust
