Laker loaded lineups

Post#1 » by zimpy27 » Sat Feb 20, 2021 12:28 pm

Schroeder, Caruso, KCP, LeBron, Davis
- You won't see this lineup much until the playoffs but so far it's +49.2 per 100 in 32 minutes.
- This lineup as a change-up of Caruso for Gasol in the starting lineup. Sort of like when Caruso came in for Dwight in the Finals.

Schroeder, KCP, LeBron, Davis, Gasol
- The starting lineup and it has held up well so far with +12.5 per 100 in 281 minutes.
- This lineup is doing better than the main starting lineups last season in the RS.

Schroeder, Kuzma, Davis, Harrell with either THT or Caruso
- Gives Lebron a rest and switched from 3 shooting to going for efficient 2s and drawing fouls.
- This lineup is +19 with THT and +27 with Caruso per 100 in 24 minutes so far this season.

LeBron, Matthews, Morris, Harrell with either THT or Caruso
- This 4-man lineup has THT or Caruso join as an SG. LeBron is running the point and this lineup is very effective at drawing fouls due to their difficult matchups at each position.

These lineups won't all get a big run in the RS but will be part of main rotation in playoffs

Good post and a great reminder. I still don't see an NBA line up that outplays a Lakers team with AD at the 5, LeBron initiating and three other high level defenders.

Exactly. The best lineups for the Lakers are purposefully delayed until playoffs.

I don't think there is any need to trade players when these eleven guys are all part of strong lineups:
Schroeder, Caruso, KCP, THT, Matthews, Kuzma, LeBron, Morris, Davis, Harrell, Gasol

Only flaw has been the 3 shooting of Davis, Morris, THT and Schroeder. All but THT have shown they can improve a lot in that area.

The key is like you said, the Regular season. But that is where a problem exists. We have to survive and make it thru. Depth at the 5 is where the front office messed up. AD bangin his way thru 72 games is proving costly. Early on he was posting up and getting hammered inside. He said it himself, he would not like to play the 5. So we've gotta cut him a break and bring in guys who are agile and can bang thru 72 games, and rest him up for the Championship run.
